There is soooo much to see in Lahore, the people are sooo friendly. I am not sure if you had any troubles being there as a western woman. I also wanted to add that Lahore was the capital of the Sikh Empire for 40 years and the people of Lahore still respect and honor the Sikh monuments/Gurudwaras in the city. To them, I am grateful. I have only been to Lahore once but God willing, there will be another chance.

The oldest city in Pakistan is Peshawar. It dates back to 539 BC. We also have the ancient Indus Valley civilization in Sindh Pakistan that dates back to 3300 BC.

My mom was born in Lahore and moved to India in 1947. Have been to her former home in Lahore. The neighbour lady who breast fed my mom along with her own daughter(due to my grandmother passing away while giving birth), was still alive in 1987 and actually met her there. She would not let me leave for two weeks and told the entire neighbourhood that her grandson was there and to come meet me!!!!

Thanks for coming here and showing the culture,mosque, food and streets of the city of Lahore. It's amazing to meet Zenith (motorbike rider) who is very friendly and courageous lady. She is an inspiration for the girls who wants to ride motorbikes on streets. But in this part of the World, families don't appreciate or encourage girls and even boys to travel or adventure on motorbike alone because of safety and security reasons. While travelling on motorbike alone, people at different destinations do help individuals but still there are possibilities of facing uncomfortable circumstances which are difficult to avoid if traveling on bike alone. I personally don't feel comfortable in riding a motorbike because of safety reasons. Encouraging woman to ride a bike is fine but we can not encourage woman or any man to ride alone on motorbike in a long distance travelling because of safety and security reasons. (Not specific to this part of the world but it's applicable to every part of the world.)
