What was the best part of Harbaugh's first year? Worst part?
@Electric_Funeral13 күн бұрын
The best part is getting Ladd in the 2nd round, and the fact that Hortiz actually traded up to get him while simultaneously fucking the Patriots. The worst part is Greg Roman and the fact that we’re probably stuck with him for multiple years.
@devinricklef808813 күн бұрын
Might be silly, but best part to me was seeing so many returning players buying into the culture and playing with something to prove every week (especially on defense).
@cepolt13 күн бұрын
The culture that he brought; that camaraderie and the feeling of “ togetherness” that is the foundation of a winning team. The players having mentioned over the season how fun it was to play football again, and specifically being on the team itself. When there’s a culture and a coaching staff people want to play for, it’s easier to work harder, be more focused, etc. if not for the individual but for their fellow teammates.

Doesn’t seem like there’s many unfortunately. IMO they should get Ryan Kelly, and draft a guy in the 5th or 6th( Slaughter, Foster). I’d say draft higher but no high ranking prospects. Draft a guard in the 2nd or 4th( Ratledge or Booker if he falls to us in the 2nd). But damn what I wouldn’t do to have Tyler Warren and a good edge drafted. 3rd round WR ala Bryant, Nash. If Jayden Higgins falls to us in the 3rd that’d be a steal.

Y’all are great week in and out, always insightful. Hortiz is the freaking man. Night and day from Telesco. Active, smart with the cap, comp picks, and the draft was a huge success. Harbaugh and Herbert will take us to the promised land. I know it. Successful season, despite the offensive frustrations and disappointing end. #NoElevators

Hey guys, enjoyed your show this year - looking forward to the offseason content! Can you do a video on what the Chargers need to do from here to build a contender? Side note, on Mina Kimes' podcast yesterday she said the Roman hire came with an expiration date and it's already here 😬😬😬. (yikes)

Jim off handedly commented on some video (maybe the one introducing his RV?) that this OC job was a jump pad for Roman to get a shot at being HC. That could be read as there was a post-Roman plan. I didn't think it would be to the point of firing him if his tenure was not great.

Fantastic work during the season, can't wait for some of the off season stuff you guys have planned. Im an avid college football watcher and Besides the obvious pick at TE, do you think the chargers would go WR in the first round? Matthew Golden from Texas is a first round talent and although he's a little under sized (6'1) He's a plug and play at X imo.

I'll add him to the list! He's 81st on the consensus board so we'll see how far up his stock could go

The Oline is HORRIBLE....which means no running game, and means no time for herbert to do a damn thing....and even with, by miracle, he had time to throw a pass, look who he's passing to! I can't believe we won 11 games, seriously....Forget Defense!!!! We need interior line, tight end and receiver!!

Joe Hortiz has one huge problem this offseason: there is no viable Center available. Bozeman is not good enough to start -- he was at fault for too many sacks of Herbert. There is no good Center in free agency and none in the draft this year. What will he do? Perhaps trade for Cesar Ruiz from Saints. He was with Harbaugh at Michigan and Saints have salary cap problems. Greg Roman will not get fired but his offense requires a strong Center.
@palestar5513 күн бұрын
I heard a rumor having to do with the center in Atlanta. I don’t care what position gets adressed on the IOL I just care that at least one of the guards or the centers gets an upgrade. That + a weapon should be a sizable upgrade.
@tylerschoon23713 күн бұрын
Bad offseason to need a center for sure. Good if you're a team with the $ to entice any center you want
@Darwin7612 күн бұрын
@@tylerschoon237 It sounds like money will be spent on Trey Smith. That still leaves a gap at Center. I'm happy to see what Joe Hortiz does with so much cash this year.
@LightiningHobo12 күн бұрын
I also heard the suggestion to trade for a S. The weird part about Bozeman was that he wasn't good enough to pull for a screen play. After blowing some screens Roman started. calling it way less. Even though it would have been good to have that card in their pockets. If they trade for the KC guard, they could draft Charles Grant, a developmental OG to sit on the bench, or to come in Jumbo to help run the ball.

I think some of the issues we had (for example not investing in the IOL) aren't really things that can be criticised properly because with the situation the new staff were walking into there were going to be holes going into the season. I've seen a lot of fans getting annoyed at holes in the roster but there was no possible scenario where we could have filled all these holes in one offseason. Now we have a fresh cap and a tonne of picks we can be critical next season - but I don't think the roster construction this year was reflective of any kind of process flaw it was just necessary for the future health of the team who was only ever going to be competing properly in 2025/2026. I also was disappointed by Roman but he also was working with arguably the worst IOL and TE room in the league - and outside of quarterback these may possible be the most valuable parts of the offence he wants to run. We all saw the ridiculous playcalls which would have Matlock and Fiske being the primary targets on vertical routes - maybe these playcalls work with Loveland and a good FA pick up? Not to say he should have been calling them as he definitely needed to adapt but I am intrigued to see how this all works with a fully refreshed offensive personnel group
@Omega-rn4xo12 күн бұрын
I think the biggest mistake by Hortiz in the draft was taking Eboigbe over an IOLineman, i get we need to address the d-line and he was a project from the start, but like you guys noted, there were a lot of strong picks from last draft that started throughout the season and were very very strong

We need a great pass catching TE, LG,C,RG,RB,3rd down passing RB, a true X receiver on offense. On defense we need youth at edge… it is time. Khalil Mack and Bosa are going to hold Tuli back. He needs to emerge as a number 1 or 2 pass rusher moving forward and if you keep bosa you can’t pay him his cap hit is robbery. Also we need a starter to emerge at every position of tgr defense. 3rd safety, if we move Still inside we probably need 2 starting level corners because Hart continues to get concussions and LB needs a running mate with Daiyan if 25 can step up but we need someone. DT you have to resign Tart or you need to find 2 more starting level DTs. I love Tart and Ford, they are very solid.
@Marcus419OO11 күн бұрын
Resign Tart, sign Jarran Reed DT, get Bosa contract off the books, sign Matt Judon edge as replacement, sign Nate Hobbs CB so he can’t start inside and Hart and Still can be outside, sign Jevon Holland FS so he can be the future back end play maker, sign Ryan Kelley C, sign Tevin Jenkins G, sign Keenan Allen to vet contract and find a big X in the draft. If Ladd outside Keenan in the slot, if Keenan outside Ladd in the slot. I have no idea if we can afford this but that my wish list. We need to draft a receiving TE that can block enough to be a number 1 so Dissly is forced to be the short yardage, flat and blocking TE. Also Khalil Herbert wouldn’t hurt at RB as a receiver and draft a RB starter and TE high in the draft.
@lymanellsworth472712 күн бұрын
Get Herbert what he needs. A good 0 line, another receiver, tight end and a running back. Eliminate excuses and see exactly what Herbert can do.
