Trying out a new bike (Yamaha XJ 900 S) and explaining the plague that is moose flies or at least the name I know them by.

Did some 110.000 km on one (2001) until a dog belonging to a careless owner crossed my path and sent me to hospital and the bike to the scrapyard. Will forever be the best bike I ever owned. Currently on a Hornet 600, which is another great -though fundamentally different- bike, but my Diversion is dearly missed.

It’s a reason I will never buy a bike without ABS. You never know when it might save your life

Had a divi 900 a round 1999 ish great bike found the fuel gauge a bit odd as it didn't show full tank just from half down so liked to do 100mls before gauge moved. Moved on to a fjr1300 when they came out, one thing about the xj900 v fjr13 the fjr has lower c of g so feels lighter. I enjoyed my time with the divi 900 great bike.

Great bike fast and smooth, and also may I know which type of fuel is good for this bike because I’m confused either to use super 98 fuel or special 95 fuel please help me on which one to use thanks and hopping to hear from you soon

Yes it's very reliable. 95 octane is fine. The engine is not working hard enough for it to need 98.

Since 95 contains 10% bio-ethanol in Netherlands I use only 98 for all my cars and bikes (incl the Diversion 900)
@Strannik1913 жыл бұрын
92 is quite enough for that bike

Very good bike, I also own it. I have never seen white XJ-900 Diversion except the police version :)

Maybe it looks white, but it's grey.

I've often felt that more bike videos would benefit from including barometric pressure data at the start.
@joenice2423 жыл бұрын
Haha! The data was there. I figured I might as well include it.

Crapiest bike i ever have owned. Just pure crap and nothing else. in 4500 miles fuelpump, starter, and camchain was worned out. On top of it all, it`s hell to mess with, it`s japans answer to French cars.

I guess I would feel the same way if all those things happened at once, but typically I see the opinion that they are very reliable. I just changed the front tire and filled the front forks with oil and replaced the fork seals and didn't find it too complicated, but dealing with engine and electrical issues are harder of course.

It's a simple enough bike to work on.I'm guessing you bought it like that as once you've had one a while you would see how simple they really are.Just unfortunate these all went wrong for you at similar times.They are not known for unreliability.
