I'm 50 and late stage 3. Please God, when it's time I pray that I get this surgery. Please pray for all of us who suffer lung disease.

Hi,@@Jess-wk5jo. According to Dr. Dilling, some patients get one lung transplanted and others have both done, and that decision is based upon individualized assessment that particular patient’s medical issues and the testing that is done ahead of going on the list. Scarring does not occur in the other lung when a single lung transplant is done. In general, a patient with pulmonary fibrosis has scarring in both of the lungs. If you'd like to have your specific case assessed, you can request an appointment with one of our specialists either online at www.loyolamedicine.org/appointment or by phone at 888-584-7888. Good luck! -Keisha
