Been planning to finish this edit for the last three years, but never seemed like the right time. I'm glad I didn't do it until now because the 100th episode of 9-1-1 finally confirmed our thoughts about Buck's sexuality and I just love how he's finally getting to explore that side of him after not being able to for the longest time.
Seeing him all giggly with this new crush he has on Tommy is absolutely the cutest thing ever and I hope he's this happy for the rest of the season because he truly deserves it.

As Oliver himself said, Buck kept latching on to different things throughout the seasons, different personalities, hobbies, friendships, relationships, and that can be/is indicative of someone who is not truly comfortable with/aware of who they really are, and is still trying to figure themselves out. As a bisexual myself, this has been blatantly obvious since season 1, now its canon. Heck, I even did the same thing with constantly hopping from one straight relationship to another before I fully became aware of who I am, it just took Buck a little longer to figure that out, and that's okay. I'm so excited to see where this goes and how he develops.

Oliver has said Bi Buck was first pitched to him as an idea two or three years ago but they never went further with it, which means it was either Fox or the change show runner that stopped it happening. The show moves to ABC and Tim comes back as show runner and boom four episodes is all it took to bring Buck out of the closet. Fox cancelling the show maybe the best thing that ever happened to it.

His character has had a lot of growth now but he started out as gym bro type with kind of an ego, who only sleep with woman all the time. There has just been no real hints of him being attracted to men or questioning his sexually at all. Usually in a show you might see two men/two woman who’s hands maybe get a little too close and they act strange or whatever. Something that shows that development. I get you’re not gonna see that in the real world. Anyone I walk by can be queer and I won’t know it. But this is a show. They gotta pull me into the story and make me believe it. And when there are no signs, the story just seems off.
