Yes! I started rewatching the show a couple weeks ago and got to the Christmas episode in season 3 when Dean tried to give Sam a good Christmas and told him that John had been back to bring presents. I cried when it was revealed that their dad hadn’t been back at all and that Dean had actually stolen them. How many times did he do things like this during their childhood? Dean always saw John as a hero but he certainly wasn’t much of a father.
