The response on social media has been utterly disgusting, people defending her abuser, blaming her for the abuse or flat out denying it. This is how we treat abused women who after many years of trauma finally find the courage to speak? After being stripped of all sense of safety and security, THIS is the safe space we provide them to name the people who may have irreparably damaged their spirits? And hold them accountable? Evan has done a phenomenal job, and although she may not have imagined this, all she’s done for domestic violence victims may end up being her life’s most important work. I wish her the best and hope full justice will be brought to her and others in the same situation.
@3230966853 жыл бұрын
it’s not “utterly disgusting” to question the veracity of certain claims. burden of proof exists, and ignoring it sets a bad precedent for the abused and the alleged abuser. if there is merit to your claims, then they should hold up to scrutiny and substantiated with exculpatory evidence before we decide to vilify a potentially innocent man. trial by social media is incredibly corrosive.
@coonie183 жыл бұрын
@@323096685 there’s overwhelming proof, that’s why it’s utterly disgusting. How many victims and witnesses need to come forward for it to be deemed truthful? Not to mention the statements and admissions he made himself. I shudder to think what becomes of victims that do not have evidence to back up their very real abuse, especially when the abuser carries out a smear campaign (which is often what happens) to invalidate the victim before they even have a chance to come forward. So yes, it’s disgusting and embarrassing to deny the abuse when all the evidence is out there.

@@LUKEYPO2 I don't think you have the mental competency to see the irony in what you said here, so I'll point it out to you. You expect people to judge Marilyn Manson guilty because of things Evan Rachel Wood has said on Instagram while saying that she can't post proof on Instagram because the statute of limitations has expired. There is no statute of limitations on Instagram. She said she has a multitude of evidence to back her claims up, but all she has posted on Instagram so far are things that have been proven false, instructions for her followers to hound law enforcement, and bizarre conspiracy theories about Marilyn Manson's current wife being involved in the abuse. In the meantime, we've all learned that Wood and her lesbian lover Illma Gore spent months contacting every one of Marilyn Manson's former girlfriends via Zoom, where they all coordinated their allegations for maximum effect. I escaped a similar nightmarish situation 4½ years ago. I ended up escaping with the clothes on my back and nothing more. It was all I could do after multiple attempts at sneaking away. I was isolated from friends family and I didn't have anyone. It is not enough to say it was brutal any time he found out that I was hiding money or items for survival so that I could leave and still be able to eat and have the bare necessities. The police were useless in this situation during to small town politics and his family being important and well-known in the town. I was able to leave town and find a place that would hire me. I was working there for about a month when my exhusband (husband at the time) tried to kidnap me while walking to work. He had grown so confident with his family's pull in his town and he really thought he was going to get away with it. I was already within view of the front door at work and my employer called the police. My exhusband was so shocked as he was being arrested and it was like he couldn't believe it and I guess this was because he got away with it for so long. So there's the short version of my story. For you.... Leaving can be scary, especially if you have nowhere to go. If you live in a city that has resources and housing for abuse victims (look up resources online and please remember to only clear the "suspicious" browser history and make sure you do not have any apps that monitor your phone usage and location-I learned this the hard way. You will have to leave the phone if you are unable to remove these from your phone) , if you have family or friends, a car you can take (I know that part may be a long-shot in a controlling abusive situation). If you do have a place to go (women's housing, friends/family), you can have the police come and get you out and they will wait while you grab your necessities and children's necessities (you won't be able to take furniture, trinkets, anything like that) and they can take you where you need to go. Or you can grab yourself and your children and return with the police to collect some things later. You will need to file a restraining order asap (I know it's just a piece of paper but legally documenting this is imperative, especially if you have not reported any abuse in the past). My advise isn't much and I know what it is like being in that situation and I'm so sorry because I know the how sucky the options are when you have nothing to your name and nobody to notice that you've gone missing, but if you can make it out, you will feel better and you will be able to rebuild your life and heal. Many states have the 211 phone number for basic assistance such as crisis intervention, food, clothing, transportation, bill payment, etc. 1-800-799-7233 is the National Domestic Hotline and I know these 800 number seem men but it can find you help in your area, temporary housing and set you up with food, clothes, sanitary products, financial programs, etc. This was a lifesaver for me after I ran. I can look up help in your area If you let me know your state (if you want to). Getting help from organizations that offer support and resources also makes it where your situation and you are longer "off the grid" and people will notice if something happens or if you go missing.
@khr17052 жыл бұрын
Did you go?
@LUKEYPO23 жыл бұрын
What she is doing is amazing and will help many people. It is good to see that some people can understand how much healing must take place with victims in order for them to be able to seek justice for themselves. I think the reason so many people come forward after someone body else does is they finally feel like they aren't alone and can get the strength to face what has happened to them and let go of the blame they place on themselves. The fear (especially if the abuser is famous, smart and wealthy) would out weigh wanting to seek justice and stop a monster. A lot of people don't believe her and say cruel things because they idolize MM. He has gotten away with a lot because of his career being a shock rocker. This persona covers the things he truly does that are criminal- he has even admitted that and that admission is swept under the rug along with everything else he does as being just another thing he's doing for a shock rockers persona. It's sickening he's like Harvey Weinstein in many ways with how he goes after people to try to silence them and the support he has from all those around him. Evan even has videos and pictures, but since people haven't seen them for themselves they claim she is just a salty ex who is ashamed of a bdsm experience. BDSM is not what occured here, it is safe and consentual. It is not starvation, sleep deprivation, drugs, grooming and gaslighting on top of torture. Being locked away, told how to speak and what to wear, being told what friends to have and alienating their families from them. That is criminal and he should be in jail. Also ppl don't need to use Evans relationship with Amber Heard as to why Evans would be a liar this is separate cases and events.

There are 'injustices' because the likes of you dont name the attacker allowing others to not avoid 'him'. This is not helping at all. We must name the person when attacked and if known to us, why is she hiding it.
@Scottish_Rose4 жыл бұрын
Suzie K Because he threatened to have her or her family killed if she named him. Anyone who can connect the dots can see its Manson. Too many other women with similar stories to Evan’s and the timeline matches up to her time with him. She stated she hasn’t felt safe in years! Connect the dots, she laid them out as best she could without naming him.

It's definitely Manson and she's definitely still trying to protect him by not naming him. I wish she would name him (if it's manson or not) so we can hold him accountable.

@@kerdisia True. He should be tried fairly. Or else the justice system is screwed.
@rgdssd3 жыл бұрын
@@kerdisia you don’t know what she has, and testimony is evidence in a court of law. Also, many other women have come forth against him as well and are suing him, including a former assistant. He’s the new Harvey Weinstein and hopefully can be jailed for causing pain and suffering to probably a hundred women or more.

Ok well if she’s afraid of lawsuits then it’s not really being brave is it? Sounds like BS to me. There’s plenty of people who have these kinds of fetishes and nobody calls them monsters. It wasn’t a secret Manson had these fetishes and apparently she never told him she wasn’t into it so wtf.

no eye contact in the beginning is weird to me. also note how in congress she says that her domestic violence was when she was a teenager?? I’m sorry, please don’t take me wrong, just her statements are very conflicting to her testimony???? A teenager verses when she dated marylin does not go together??? As a victim myself, please don’t take me wrong, just have very bad vibes from her about this. seems very disingenuous

Something about this sounds so attention seeking to me. Kinda made up. If you wont say a name and bring it to court it's just public crying and not encouraging anyone. Not saying shes lying because we dont know but what's the point. To me this does the opposite of what she thinks it does.

Also she stayed the statute of limitations has expired when she attempted to press charges. She is trying to empower herself and others. Naming the accuser is not always everyone's journey. For some, naming the accuser and going through a trial can be equally as traumatic.
