Many Thanks, I have noticed that you did not use any of the Render Tags in your scene, when to use Cineware and when to use Compositing? I am using last version of C4D and Last version of After Effects, in a scene prepared in C4D and runs perfectly, rendering the same scene in After Effects has a lot of issues mainly it is about Tags. My question Please: do you have a video which I did not find and see and you can direct me to it, or you did not face such a problem. I appreciate your help always. Thanks again

Thank you so much! Is it possible to use a 3d model and put it in AE - with 3d camera tracker on a footage? For example, track drone footage and than add the 3d object so it floats in space. Do I have to buy plugins for this? Do I have to wait for the new version of AE?

You are in luck! If you install the public Beta I believe that feature is in there... maybe. Adobe was showing off .obj import not long ago at a conference. So, if you save your file out as a .obj you should be able to pull it into the beta and have it respond to lights and cameras. This feature I believe is a little ways off from the stable release. So, if you need this ability right now you'll want to use a plugin like Element or Helium. But, that will place the .obj on a layer that acts like a window to see the obj through, but it would not intersect with other 3d layers in the space. I hope that helps!

Can we use redshift renderer directly inside After effects cineware ?
@ECAbrams2 жыл бұрын
I believe so. I tested it this morning and it looks like it does give you whatever the current renderer for the project is. So if that's set to Redshift, it renders the frame with those settings. I would cautions, that one frame did take quite some time because it's returning the bucket render not the progressive.

Good stuff, as always! Have you thought about doing a similar series for like Element 3D? There really isn't a ghigh quality series on VC's 3d program that's as concise and focused that this one you just did for C4D Lite.
@ECAbrams2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you like it. I can certainly look into more series like this. But, I should say that given the performance of this series, by the numbers it doesn't look like this is a format of content this channel or platform is really responding to overall. It feels a like bit like I brought steamed broccoli to a pot luck dinner.
@johntnguyen19762 жыл бұрын
@@ECAbrams oh no...sorry to hear that! I really enjoyed this one!
@ECAbrams2 жыл бұрын
It's how it goes in the content game I'm afraid. The videos on this channel may be "good", but it is certainly not in line with what the structures of this platform would prefer. I should be producing shorter, more frequent content; and not longer, infrequent content. That is, I should conform to the platform's norms if I want the metrics of the channel to improve and for more humans to actually see the stuff I put on the platform. It is hard to square that requirement with the type of things I prefer to put out in the world though.

Hey there! Thanks for making these, they have been super useful. I'm having a bit of trouble and I cant seem to resolve it. I want to do a depth pass to add some nice rack focusing, but when I choose depth on the multi pass in cineware, the image doesn't change! It should look like a gradient close to far i know, so I can apply a camera lens blur to that layer, but the layer is no different from the original layer. In C4d lite, I can see that a depth pass is being created, but I can't seem to access it. Any ideas? Thank you!
@ECAbrams Жыл бұрын
Interesting. This may be a case of needing to clear the cache perhaps? If you're able to select the multipass option in cineware, but the actual image doesn't change, that would be my first place to go. You'll want to clear it in the cineware pannel (there should be a button) and in the ae project as well. I hope that help, but I'm not totally sure what the trouble would be.

As for the next part, some suggestions could be rendering 3d things to look like 2d (that would probably be in the full version), using Redshift, or comping together stuff between the 2 programs
@ECAbrams2 жыл бұрын
We can do some rudimentary 2d shaders in c4d Lite. I would describe the result as "flat" rather than 2d. But it could be a fun project. I'll definitely put that on the list! There are currently plans for some compositing work that will be pushing camera and position data between Ae and C4d a lot. It'll be interesting to see how best those can be structured.

My reflections, which are generated by a "sky" from the cinema lite scene are not showing up in my after effects scene. Any reasons why?
@ECAbrams Жыл бұрын
That's very curious. Are you set to "current" in the Cineware options?
@dmc3079 Жыл бұрын
@@ECAbrams Yes. The "sky" reflection shows up in the Viewport (draft), but as soon as i use Current, the reflection goes away, but AO shows. I found a work around, but was curious as to why the sky didn't show reflections on the material...

rendering in AE is clearly just punishment for not paying for the full Cinema 4D. What a truly terrible pain in the ass.

i can't find redshift when i select the renderer, any help?
@ECAbrams Жыл бұрын
This is probably best taken to Maxon's help forums. I'm not totally sure what would cause an installed renderer not to appear in your available options.
