I actually found an old video by Abrams where he made something similar. But you have to use a monotype font to make it work. Should be in his library.

Hi Evan, thanks for your marvelous video. I tried it out, but ran into problems when I wanted TWO lines of text (with different fonts/sizes), sort of like you use in your own intro. I run into problems probably because the anchor points of the text layer and the outline are messing things up. I see in the beginning of your video that you have an extra null layer and the two text layers are linked to that null layer. How do I set that up so that the outline scales to the size of both the text layers together?

Big fan of your work! Is there a way to center the text, regardless of lines, within the shape layer. The center anchor point doesn't remain center when you deviate from the original setup. If you create 1 line and build the project but change to 3 lines later, the shape layer is no longer centered around the text. I guess you create multiple .mogrts, one for each possible line scenario?

Hi Evan, great tutorial as always. You’re always a go to for AE! Question, we have an existing template that has a title slide out from behind a little shape graphic and is ‘hidden’ by a track matte. All we have to do is change the name and we’re good to go, except sometimes the name is too long so sticks out from behind the track matte before it animates. Easy enough to fix in AE but I want to make an essential graphics template for Premiere, and can’t work out how to enable position adjustments for the start of the animation. Any tips? The duration of the comp is fixed. For a few reasons, it has to be. But you can affect the timing of elements using a variety of techniques. I believe I cover on one this very channel.

In one sense it is definitely possible. If you make an expression driven animation you could use the slider to alter the start time. You could even use that method to have the slider be the delay before a layer "plays" perhaps using time remap. It would be another matter if you wanted to have the slider actually lengthen the comp though. I'm not sure that's available at this time.

Hi, do you know if after effects can use character functionality with text as you would do if you made the graphics in Premiere pro? I notice you cannot change text colour or text allignment etc.. I wonder if there is a conversion to FCP. Mgrts really are an adobe only kind of deal for adobe on adobe action. Apple has Motion for their integration in that way. I hope that helps!

It has been a real journey with the audio. I've been using the same mic in roughly the same kind of space for a few years and the big improvement has been getting the mic close to my face and up off the table so my spine is upright. I put a little parametric eq on it after but it's nothing beyond special.

Artekko I don't have a problem with background noise/the sound of the audio itself. It's more of a room treatment issue. My walls are bare and extremely reflective. I don't have the money to treat the entire room though.

If you're looking into a foam treatment I would recommend checking out sites like Ali-express where you can get bulk orders or things like acoustic foam for cheaper than usual, direct from a factory. Alternatively, some buddies of mine who are more frugal cover their walls in egg cartons. Cardboard is absorbent and the shape diffuses sound like pyramid foam would. Might you also consider getting really into hanging tapestries or rugs on the walls? There are some low cost and DIY solutions. I haven't done either, but the room certainly isn't bare on the walls.

Well, Bodymovin is just a way to export things out of Ae. So really any template should work so long as it doesn't include things that Bodymovin doesn't export. As for how that interacts with Airbnb, I don't know. Does this have something to do with lottie libraries? I'm not totally sure what the ask is here.

I have thought of editable HTML based templates, for example for digital signage. The JSON file of Bodymovin is of course editable (not very easy ...), but cooler would be something like what you did with the essentials graphics without having to write code.
