FearMilk boxing for 12 rounds odds different than mma , boxing its much more aerobic than anaerobic compared to mma, Connor was already gassed, trying to get air, on top of that add more shots to the body and head and he might've got serious damage, on top of the overnight weight gain, Connor was spent and Floyd knew it, he just went easier than a younger boxer in his prime would have, but Connor did do pretty well for a non career boxer. His power was overrated but his technique was pretty good (for a beginner/ non career).

My feelings are that the UFC knowing that longer it went the more likely their money maker could be severely punished. They most likely instructed the ref stop it in a sitaution like the 10th rd and not risk Conor getting brain damaged. Which is bulllshit cause the guy and his fanbase talked a Mountain of trash and Floyd shoulda been able to handle his business in that respect.

I think Holyfield is speaking more from experience than hate. He was severely hurt against Foreman and Riddick Bowe and almost out on his feet but came back to make those rounds competitive. But lets be real Conor is no Holyfield . But there are plenty of examples of fighters rocked early in rounds even knocked down who come back to win those rounds . I dont think Conor had it in him tho.

Conor wanted the stoppage. He didnt throw a punch to defend himself in over a minute even though he saw the ref come in and back out 3x before the final stoppage. "protect yourself at all times" was his get out of jail free card.

The round was stopped when the clock was just under 2 mins. Floyd had plenty of time & momentum to continue that last onslaught. Conor could've still continued being up on his feet, either way he was in no shape to answer the blows he was repeatedly receiving to the head. Conor was visibly dazed & in terrible condition those last few seconds and it's amazing how some seem to be purposefully denying that. The ref no doubt made the right decision. No one who appreciates the sport wants to see fighters getting seriously injured.

That's because Floyd fought differently. He walked Conor down the whole time. He opened himself up to be more offensive, to entertain the fans LIKE HE SAID HE WOULD. Pls, that stat is useless. Floyd never fights like he did last night, and that's because he didn't respect Conor's power.

Floyd almost never fights the way he did last night. He did it for 3 reasons: 1) didn't respect Conor's power. 2) He said he'd be more offensive and walk Conor down. It was all part of the plan from weeks back. Watch his interviews. 3) He did it to give the fans what they wanted to see. He wanted to go out with a bang and shut up critics who claim he's a boring fighter.

And at the end of the day Mayweather said it was going to be a brawl. He didn't fight defensive he just kept attacking and Conor failed to make it a good brawl. He was weak.

there's nothing to complain about with the stoppage. Conor proved he was a soldier and took a fight in Floyd's wheelhouse and made it ten rounds earned one hell of a paycheck. But he gassed and Mayweather is conditioned for that. he was really coming in the tenth. Conor may not have dropped but he would have taken a shit load of unneeded punches because he wouldn't have won unless he knocked Floyd out and he couldn't do that in the first 5 rounds where he needed to.

I'm a boxing fan and I still wanted it to keep going. Look at the fight, neither fighter even really looked hurt. McGregor looked gassed, not in pain. Dude is used to getting elbows and knees in his face I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have gotten "seriously injured " from a fighter who isn't and never was known for his power, especially at age 40. If it was gatti or someone like that then there may be danger, but not from Floyd.

Kris V Neither the swift nor the strong but the one who ENDURES...That's what counts. No need to kill a man to defeat him. No need to seriously injure to defeat him. He looked gassed and defenseless so he was spared a worse fate. Floyd worked that boy and defeated him by the rules of boxing, demonstrating his superiority, convincingly.

It is sad that a man with such a great fighting record can be so hated. why? Cornor does not have a perfect record in UFC but he is touted as the greatest in UFC, how? I learned 2 things from this whole McGregor-Mayweather debacle: 1) There are more racist blacks than racist whites. 2) TMT-Floyd fans are bragging that their idol "TBE" The Best Boxer EVERRRRR taking 10 rounds to beat a guy with ZERO AMATEUR or Pro boxing experience who is known for having low gas tank and lacks boxing endurance. How can you brag about this win? Not even that, Conor landed more punches in 9 rounds (he didnt actually land any in 10th I think or not that matter) than Canelo, Pac, Gatti, and more pro boxers did in 12 rounds. MORE LANDED PUNCHES IN 9 than all of these pro-boxers did in 12 rounds. lol Give Conor credit, he stepped in to a world he never competed in against the man who controls boxing outside and inside with endurance 10x better than Conor. AND, Conor a 0-1 record made $100+ million in his pro debut ahahhahahahah.

And now it's going to become a controversial fight. I believe that the ref should have let it roll to the very end. I mean, it's how they do it in the movies and they count to 10. WTF! Ain't no TKO in a Rocky movie. But I am serious, should have let it roll. Mayweather isn't Tyson to put an end to Conor's career. Now, it will always be controversial. The fight did go the distance....a biiiiiiiiig distance. And McGregor scored BIG in the first 4 rounds even though the judges gave him only ONE. Controversial fight forever and yet another victory that is not that clean cut for Mayweather, but he doesn't give a f.

Still, should have let it ride to the end, so there is no excuses for anybody. There was 15 seconds left til the end of the round. Mayweather was going for the kill, but was he able to make it happen? McGregor was still on his feet. This was not the amateur category. This was a very prestigious event and the ref should have let it roll. It's not going to be healthy for anybody to have a glimpse of a doubt as to the possible outcome of letting the round roll.

LA KRITIX DES CHAUVES Mcgregor was on his feet dazed. He was being kept up Mayweather beating him. One moment during tge onslaught ge looked like he wanted to just jump out the ring. In his daze he even looked at the ref for help. This is boxing where every punch you can't defend is a deadly one. We dont want such a great event to turn into a tragedy!

why should Floyd care? He did his part. He had a strategy, stuck with it and won. He even pushed forward on Conor after taking his best shots and thats unlike Floyd. Its not his fault that you rabid desperate Conor fans just cant accept it.

The succession of punches weren't being answered by Connor so ref only stepped in to protect him, from serious concussion or worst. If Connor was knocked out cold, after a succession of unanswered blows to the head, I believe the ref would have been heavily criticised! Therefore it left him with little or no choice.

As much as i like conor and don't mayweather. No one was paid off. Mayweather is just a way better boxer this was a fact before the fight. Conor could not hurt him early and that was his only chance. I am sorry to say but Mayweather was taking his shots like they were nothing and just playing with him after the first 3 rounds. he kept coming forward and i think he definitely dragged the fight out to give people a show. Conor would of continued to get lit up if they didn't stop it then. it wasn't like floyd was hurt at all or slowing down.

I'm thinking that's a reference to the fact that the fight shouldn't have happened. Mayweather Jr. should've left it at 49-0.. Now everyone is going to question Mayweathers victories. I'm starting to hear people talking about Mays past fights being rigged. This fight made Mayweather look so bad.

anthony joshua aged at 27 years nearly got beat by wladimir klitschko at age 41 in round 6 and they are both boxers... age doesnt really matter (unless of course your above 50 or something). Hats off to conor he is used to different styles of rounds and fighting in MMA and he moved into the boxing side to take on floyd, only having 3 months to train. With only 3 months to train to take on the greatest boxer, i mean he did an amazing job no matter if your a fan of mcgregor or not, especially in those first 3 rounds. Huge respect honestly. I do wish the referee kept it going, you never know what could of happened, i mean anthony joshua was wobbling in round 6 of that fight but all of a sudden recovered the next rounds... either way good fight, both of them came out winners in my opinion. Always remember if this was all flipped around and mayweather came to MMA then of course that would of been a different situation definitely... they are both amazing fighters at what they do, conor just attempted to push himself even further and step out of his comfort zone entirely, he may have not won but he surely has learnt and taken from this. Moral of the story is, fans... chill, relax, and have a mcgregor whiskey ;)

The fight was honestly over by the 7th round. After that Connor looked lost, his legs were dragging, his shots were slow and sloppy it was done. Holyfield is just from a different era when referees would just stand by while the fighter would get brain damage, just look at those old boxing matches if you dont believe me. That shit doesnt fly today in prof boxing.

This is one of the reasons why boxing is so boring and is losing popularity compared to MMA. The stopages are ridiculous. The guy isn't knocked down yet and they stop the fight. In MMA a guy can be knocked down multiple times and they can still let it flow until he is unconscious, giving him the chance to win (which has happened multiple times).

Holyfield always looks for a opportunity to throw shade at Mayweather, which I can't seem to understand. Maybe it is because Mayweather was smart enough to make a lot of money, invest it in good things, and is able to retire on his own terms and is not punch drunk like Holyfield

Finally the first guy to say what my first reactions were, seriously it was the richest fight in history and they both said someone's head was gonna hit the canvas well..... bullshit it shouldn't have been stopped people say it's still a knockout well TECHNICALLY not I hate the fact that it got stopped I agree Conor McGregor had got stunned pretty bad and was slowly losing more and more balance but I think they should've given him a chance and kept the fight going until the end or a physical knock out

It's funny how Connor fans keeps saying But he landed more punches than Pacman, but the thing is that the majority of his "Connor" punches had no power behind it to the extent that Floyd didn't even bother "Hugging" Connor after each engagement. Like how Floyd fought Pacman. Also those hammer fist blows and rabbit punches from the rear are dirty and how he's constantly trying to take Floyd's back to ascertain a "Dominant position" in MMA was his excuses was instinctual. In truth was the best way for him to avoid getting countered while going on the offensive.
