I remember going to a diner in New York for that American experience and having a bit of a panic when the waitress asked me how I wanted my eggs. I was aware that an American would be able to tell her exactly but all I could say was 'fried'. I kept thinking 'I wonder if I should say sunny side up?' because I'd heard people say that on TV but I didn't know what it meant. She could tell I was English so she just smiled. It worked out fine.

Culture: "_the social behavior and norms found in human societies, as well as the knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, customs, capabilities, and habits of the individuals_". American culture: The absolutely worst hypocritical acceptance of gluttony, consumerism, religious cults, selfishness powered by corrupt government financed by large corporations and powerful 'interest organisations'. I visited the US for a fortnight (two weeks) in 1972 and met some lovely people. It was horrible then and has gone downhill since. Unfortunately, the UK is heading the same way with our money grabbing, super lying politicians. When a European City is awarded the accolade of 'City of Culture' it means that they have ascended to the very best standards. Nowhere in the disgusting USA is worthy of that award! There are hundreds of countries where I would prefer to live or visit rather than the USA.
