Lyrics: How can you see into my eyes like open doors? Leading you down into my core, where I've become so numb Without a soul, my spirit's sleeping somewhere cold Until you find it there and lead it back home Wake me up inside Wake me up inside Call my name and save me from the dark Bring me to life Now that I know what I'm without You can't just leave me Breathe into me and make me real Bring me to life Wake me up inside Wake me up inside Call my name and save me from the dark Bid my blood to run Before I come undone Save me from the nothing I've become Bring me to life Frozen inside without your touch Without your love, darling Only you are the life among the dead Bring me to life Wake me up inside Wake me up inside Call my name and save me from the dark Bid my blood to run Before I come undone Save me from the nothing I've become Bring me to life Bring me to life

never heard a demo so well done as this, normally they're a little rough around the edges but the gist of the final song is there
@xPaLmaaHx Жыл бұрын
it's bc they remastered it, it sounds so crisp even when they were raw takes of each instrument or vocals
@stuartstogdill2406 Жыл бұрын
It's the original version of the song for the record. The label made them redo it with Paul McCoy against Amy's wishes.
@roldanrosario8292 Жыл бұрын
Notice how there are no rap parts in this version. This is closer to how it was originally intended. Although we like it with the rap parts. The record company wanted a more Nu Metal sound. And other bands also had rap lyrics in their music.
@sigiligus Жыл бұрын
That’s because it’s the true version, it’s only called a demo because the (((record company))) demanded rapping be forced into it

@@icravedeath.1200 it was done to the song not because it was too girly without a man i think but because they saw an incredible success of a Linkin Park rap-rockl so they forced them to do that. it sounds cool to me as a final version but to be honest demo version sounds even more powerfull

I'm so sad this version wasn't build upon further, instead being largely replaced by the final... It sounds so much more thematic and animated compared to the final, largely due to the synth elements. They add a ton of character to the song.

Just so you guys know, Amy Lee said in an interview that she actually doesn't like the album version of Bring Me to Life, she likes the demo version they made when they were a two person garage band. So this is the REAL version of the song, and the album version is just a bunch of corporate BS.

Not sure this works as the first single of a new band. When you have an insanely talented vocalist, you gotta start by highlighting that - the way it finally turned out. Just the opening. Plenty of other really cool elements in this. Psyched to hear it.

The album version is what brought Evanescence into the mainstream. This demo is good -- cool guitar solo -- but let's not pretend that the band would have been as successful if they put this out instead of the version that we've all heard on rock AND POP stations. You can play hipster and say that this demo is better, but the version EVERYONE KNOWS brought the band huge success.

No one is denying the popularity and success of the album version but people r allowed to like and prefer this version considering the album version was tampered with by corporate to be popular

TL;DR Evanescence’s music has helped get me through a hell of a lot of s••t and inspired me to take up singing. I used to hear the final album version a lot on the radio in 2003-2004 and always enjoyed it. I started getting into singing and wanted to be like Amy Lee vocal-wise. Flash forward to 2006, when their album The Open Door was released. "Call Me When You're Sober" was getting a LOT of air time on the radio. I have seizures and had to have an MRI in an effort to try to figure out what on earth was going on at the time, seeing as they'd found a gliosis (gray spot) on my brain years prior. They let you wear special headphones to listen to music if you want to, and being the rocker and metalhead that I am, I requested the local rock station. I fell asleep during the procedure, and when I woke up, "Call Me When You're Sober" was playing. I started singing on reflex, and my mom (who had been allowed to wait in the tech room) told the tech that Evanescence had been one of my favorite bands at the time and inspired me to take up singing. In 2016 (just one year before Ev released their Synthesis album and went on tour), I finally received an epilepsy diagnosis (it's hard to detect in children). Evanescence’s music has helped me get through it, and I will always be grateful for it.
