That si how this song had to be. Just the angelical voice of Amy and nothing more.

She didn’t like the rapping parts either. I agree, I don’t dislike the original but I do agree this version is better
@RBMapleLeaf Жыл бұрын
@@zombiejt208I mean they weren’t given a choice from the get go. Since the record label was fairly opportunistic with their configuration prior to the release of Fallen in ‘03. Since Amy was leading the band with no male vocalist at any point. The music industry and their genre they were in. There were concerns how people were going to see Evanescence and how 20 years later they lived up to the bands name.

This song was only successful and memorable because of the male vocals
@The_Greipist4 ай бұрын
@@jackjj6257Only because radio stations wouldn't give it a chance. Then they added the male vocals and it looks like they still weren't that on board with it. It finally blew up after they got it in the Daredevil soundtrack. I don't know if the male vocals not being in the song would have been a deal breaker for the movie, but I'd be willing to wager that it wouldn't have mattered and the song still would have hit big. The only difference would be that no one would be arguing 20 years later which version is superior, lol

I remember where I was when I first heard this song. I was in the car with my old high school sweetheart, and that first chorus kicked in heard that "Wake me up!" I remember turning to her and saying, "Ooh. That don't fit." I didn't find out till years later I wasn't the only one that thought so.

Much better than Fallen version. It has peculiar atmosphere in sound, I really love it. It's really refreshing and simple... and I really admire Amy's voice in this recording. Not sophisticated, she doesn't have to exaggerate her feelings by vocal technique.
@Wander859426 жыл бұрын
I think they were able to get this back with Synthesis. It’s a more mature sounding almost giving a different meaning to the song. I still love all versions for different reasons
More like the label executives who forced the male vocal on Amy

I rewatched the lyric of the Fallen, the rhythm sounds good but the lyric doesn't make sense. Now watching the original Demo, the lyric finally makes sense. It's not about the cheesy male singer saving her since it's not love song.

It isn't. It's actually Paul McCoy. He's the lead singer of 12 Stones. It is not, in fact, Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park. He was asked to do it first but didn't for some reason.
