It's weird how much more I love Amy's voice when it's accompanied by more experimental production like this-on Origin and several of their unreleased pre-Fallen songs. I think Fallen's a great album and The Open Door has its highlights, but it feels like their self-titled and The Bitter Truth just lost what was wonderful about them before. They're safe records that never reach beyond what we've already heard from them since 2003. I'd like to hear more of THIS, more experimental production to create a wall of atmosphere around Amy's voice and lyrics. Not saying to leave behind the guitars, but I feel like their more exclusively rock-focused records bore me and don't compliment Amy's voice as much as they should.

This song is awesome, we as adults see a lot of things as they are, no filters, those changing our view on the world forever, as opposed to being kids and think that the world is beautiful and innocent, and strangers can't hurt you... you can unsee what u see as adult, even though we ache to go back to being innocent.

Yes and no. While together they made amazing music and the band was as the BEST it could be, separated Amy did better music because at least she evolved and experienced with differents sounds. Ben on the other hand looked for a Amy Lee look alike(voice and all)and while lyrics were cool, the sound was more of the same: Beautiful/cool but unremarckable (Not an English speaker, sorry for all the typos)

This was the first Evanescence song I ever heard. I heard it in 2008 when I was 6 years old. I use to take the lyrics so literally as a kid, but now that I'm older I've come to realize what this song is actually about and this song hits so much harder now that I know the meaning. I feel these lyrics so deeply, and have frequently had thoughts that were very similar to the lyrics. I feel that this song is criminally underrated. I love every song by Evanescence, but I think this one will always be the best in my opinion. I really wish this had the publicity that Bring Me To Life gets.
