I mean it does sound like something a fourteen year old would write. I like her music too, but it’s really nothing unique. It’s just what every average teen writes about. Being sad about a boyfriend or a friend is just typical angst teen stuff.

Here's a link to the song live in 1998: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn6vd42KaZxnsMk According to Ben it's about Jesus "it's about kinda how we felt God was coming to us, kinda from the perspective of God. About all the garbage that'll come on you in every day life and all the crap that'll take you down, and God's just waiting there to take it all away". "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28 -30. "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you". 1 Peter 5:7 God bless you all :)

Suicide. Why people lay their hands on themselves? why are they destroying themselves ? The truth is nobody wants to commit suicide All they want is for pain to stop,problem to resolve ,sorrow to end,they just want to be happy. Don t judge them. it can happen to you , just like it happen to them. We all live in the world which is not perfect.We are not perfect , maybe we don’t have to be . But the thing we must never forget is that as long as you live , situation can change, there is always hope . If you are contemplating about suicide , remind yourself there is always somebody who cares, there is always something to be glad about , and grateful about. Don t give in to that destroying thoughts in your mind Don t give up on life. You never know what could happen in the future , maybe something good is waiting for you. This song makes me think about Jesus, and how he loves us all ,and wants to take all your burdens on Him. Thrust Him do not give up!!

Meri Rimbaldo Thank you for this. When I was about 12 up until I was 14, I privately dealt with self-esteem issues and suicide. I felt that I was such a massive screw up. But every time that I thought of killing myself, I kept thinking about my loving friends and family. And soon I kept thinking about God. What would be his reaction? I'm 18 now and I don't deal with massive depression as I used to. I mean, there's points where I feel so down on myself for various reasons, but by the grace of God I never think of suicide as an option anymore.

I realize that the correct lyrics in the chorus are actually "I'll end all your suffering," The fact that she says "give unto me your troubles" and "place onto me your burden" She wants to heal the listener and releive them of harm. If you listen closely, you can tell her voice tricks you there. If she were enduro=ing the suffering, she would make it last longer wgich seems to be the exact opposite of what she wants

the ultimate sacrifice is made, not when we forsake our physical lives for another, but when we forsake our emotional and spiritual selves for them. when we live for someone else who doesn't have the strength to- that is sacrifice. that is love, in its ultimate form.
@umbraluna4996 жыл бұрын
Oh if only this wasn't such a toxic concept. I love the song because I was once like that -- holding up everyone else's burdens. But looking back on it, I see how messed up it made me, how insecure I was because I just went with whatever anyone else said, never defending myself or saying no for fear of making them unhappy. There's a point at which self-sacrifice can be beautiful, and a point at which it ruins you as a person by destroying your sense of self. Selflessness is prided highly, partly I believe because the selfless are really easy to take advantage of. But that's just me. There's a time and place for everything, as they say. There is a time to be selfless and be willing to help others and give up or compromise the things you do or don't do. But when you start to give yourself, your very personality, away along with it, it becomes a problem. Don't be a people-pleaser. It's not fun.
@danielbrunton1054 жыл бұрын
The only person who is able to carry everyone's burdens is Jesus, who this song is about (sung from his perspective). He did it for you on the cross. "Come to me all, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light" Matthew 11: 28-30 "humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, casting all your anxieties upon him, because he cares for you" 1 Peter 5, 6-7. I was tired of life, I called out to Jesus in hospital after a breakdown and now I have peace. He loves you my friend, he died on the cross for you, he is the only one who can carry the weight of your sin for you. Put your faith in him, give your life to him whilst there's still time. "Greater love has no one than this, that he lays down his life for his friends" John 15:13

Death in its truest form can only be recognized by the living. Without recognition you never existed did you?. Many times death is preferable over life. Death is a guarantee unlike a long life. However they are mutually exclusive, you can't have one without the other can you? It's a paradox. I have been depressed my entire life sometimes more than others. I often think about ending it, whatever it is. But something tells me not to, just the smallest spark of something. I call it God you call it what you like. I understand that death is inevitable, and that His will be done, many times I wish he would hurry with his decision. Until then I'll wait my turn.

Bullying is the biggest pain and leads to committing suicide the most. A strong urge to punish ones self because they are 'not good enough', just because others say so. But they're wrong. We all have a purpose, a reason for our existence. So if you were no good, then why are you alive? We were all chosen because we mean something to someone. We all are special in our unique own way. Do t let anyone tell you your useless or wotth not hung. Because everyone is worth something. Something special
