This is my favorite song of theirs. The lyrics are original, her voice more beautiful than a siren, and she translates emotions so efficiently with her voice, I can feel her pulling my heart in the directions she chooses.

I remember, when I was a kid, my sister playing these videos out loud late at night while I tried to fall asleep on the top bunk of our bunk bed. I know this comment isnt important but I felt like sharing it. As a writer, I have gotten the creative freedom to make a world that is so different from real life. Some times I wished I could even make everything I write come to life and be my reality instead of the one I live in. Its hard to live life these days and I just cant wait to go back to writing and feeling as if that was my reality. Imaginary describes this very well❤❤

"Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming Cannot cease for the fear of silent nights Oh, how I long for the deep sleep dreaming The goddess of imaginary light" everything about that small chunk of lyrics coupled with the slow melodic music behind it, is simply amazing. This is my most favourite song out of the entire Evanescence library. Second would be "Your Star" from The Open Door. I would love for Amy to recreate another version of "Imaginary" on an album in the future, considering there has been like 5 other variations of this song on previous records. I would love to know how she will evolve this song. But then again I don't mind, it's perfect how it is.

Ma Rina I think -but don't know- that's just what she wanted to say. I don't know what lays under "In my field of paper flowers..." or "Don't say I'm out of touch, With this rampant chaos - your reality..." But you know?.. "I linger in the door way, Of alarm clock screaming, monsters calling my name, Let me stay, Where the wind will whisper to me, Where the rain drops as they are falling tell a story", specially "I lie inside myself for hours..." and "I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge, The nightmare I built my own world to escape" parts are exactly matching with your thoughts. So, imo, door way means, burial case... Screaming of alarm clock, could both be mean last seconds before death -which is has a higher chance to be- or you know, last seconds before the awakening. Callings of monsters matches with the first part, they are calling people to death. Wanting permission to stay at a place where wind whispers, and rain drops tell story: Could both mean wanting to stay alive or wanting to stay dead. "Candy clouds of lullaby, is obviously telling us times of the childhood. So, she says that she wanted to be kid again. Because you were once live in fairy tales right? No sadness, no wars, no fights, no un-humanic humans, no evils... No truth you had. Poor guy was marring with the princess? A good man was surviving against bullies? A little girl was finding a cube of gold under the rainbow? But you were happy right? Just when you started to know the truth, something happened and you grew up right? Because the truth is there is no cube of gold under the rainbow. Simmons, said in Transformers's first movie "Sometimes, you reach the bottom of the rainbow, but you see that genies laid a trap for you..." Because we do not live in fairy tales. Something real is waiting for us *which, in Origin version of this song, there is a part says "If you need to leave the world you live in..." imo is your dream world she is saying "...Lay your had down and stay a while..." says don't "Cause you may not remember dreaming" as I said, "Something waits for you to breathe again..." Which is truths!* Truths are waiting for us to leave our dream lands. "I lie inside myself for hours" Hours mean decades, thousand years... Which could be staying dead for decades... Or being alive and staying in his/herself to not to be dead which has a higher chance. "And watch my purple skies fly over me..." As you said, watching the last purple sunsets before the eternal sleep. "I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge" sleeping refuge is burial case imo. and the part that I was trying to solve -yet I think that I still couldn't solve it- for 3 years: "The nightmare I built my own world to escape" imo, again, being dead, or alive. Both, you are building a world for you, and you are trying to escape from it. Whether escaping to life, or to dead. And I believe that chorus part left open to make people to put there something from their own dream lands, souls, thoughts, lives. It specially designed to wake different emotions to different people. There should be 900 paged ten books with a name "Understanding Evanescence" and 900 paged another 10 books with a name "Understanding Amy Lee". I don't know if it's enough to understand them. And I know that no one, not even one human red it from top to here, it's a little bit sad because I gave 1 hours to write this...

I love Amy Lee, her voice is amazingly beautiful. And I can't get enough of her voice and music. However, there is one other person that comes really close, and she sounds almost identical to Amy Lee. And that is Mandy Sooter of Noctura. I think they would be a phenomenal duet! :)
