Amy lost a sister at a very young age. Because of this experience she had to mature very fast. Amy has told she writes her emotions away. It helpes her being happy. And it creates a lot of good and sometimes dark lyrics. She is not shy to use them in her music.

Lithium is used to treat bipolar disorder. Many if those on it describe it as having cotton wrapped around their mind, or being 'zombified'. She wants to get better, but the treatment will destroy her creative side. IS she willing to give that part of herself up for love? "I don't want to forget how it feels without lithium" is a key lyric for me.

This song is about her relationship with the lead singer of Seether. He didn't show much emotion or affection unless he was extremely drunk or on drugs. This made her feel lonely when he was sober and "normal" but there is downside when he's under the influence too. This is expressed in the lines..."don't want to sleep alone", "not drunk enough to say you love me" and "my place wmong the ashes"...meaning ashes of cannabis.

Amy Lee has a lot of powerful positive songs too that can tear you up. Like the song "Speak To Me" about the unconditional love of a Mother cause she's a mother herself. Great reaction guys..❤️
