Rock in Rio Brazil started with guitars on the wrong key, fortunately they were able to fix it as it went on. The Billboard award presentation was a disaster, the string section went one way, Amy was forced to play on another key, and when the guitars came in everyone was literally somewhere else. She even had a very disappointed face at the very end and ended up with a "wow" as in "wow, that fucking sucked". That performance was only a couple of months after Ben left, so she felt she had a lot to prove, could you imagine her disappointment? Well anyway. Fun vid

***** Indeed she started singing in the wrong key, but the core of the problem relied on the guitars. Amy has talked about it on a couple of Brazilian interviews, check them out. And for the Billboard they spoke about it on EvBoard in 2004, but all that information got lost in the EvBoard crash way back when. If you see closely on the original recording, when the band gets introduced, the camera shows Amy talking to the Director, live, three seconds before they start, she even says "hey, sorry", and starts playing. I don't remember why the string decided to go on a different key, Amy could deal with it, but the rest of the band really fucked up

Ok the one where the guy jumping on stage is funny, and Amy asking "What key is bring me to life in?" Is funny but when you point out their mistakes on purpose to make them look bad that a just horrible because they are human too and it's in human nature to make mistakes, it apart of life. The mistakes that are funny I feel that some of those were on purpose because it's, like in the anywhere but home 'Evanescence unleashed' pranks on 'prank night' those, were meant to happen or were planned but I know that's not the case in all of these.

theres a difference between singing off key and having guitars tuned in a different key. In this case in WYW and My Immortal it was both incorrect tuning by the techs. Also she sings flat at times on high notes, not off key....

Hm. Actually, I can imagine that "what key's the song in?" problem. She probably doesn't have perfect pitch, leading to memorizing intervals rather than notes. Which, in turn, allows for easy transposition. Due to that, it might be easy to forget in which key a song's in when you could play (or sing) it in every one. (I wonder if she has ever had to play one of her songs in C#-Major / Bb-Minor :D ) What do you think?

Actually, one of the guitars was tuned incorrectly for that performance. I guess it can happen if your tech hands you the wrong guitar... Amy was trying to figure out the best way to sing the song when one guitar was in one key and the rest of the instruments were in another key. It also sounded like she was a little low when she first came onstage, but if the playback she was hearing was distorted or too faint, it's easy to go off-key on intros like that.
