David left before Fallen even came out and he joined a few years after Evanescence started (not as a professional band). Ben left because of creative differences. In an interview with MTV, he said, quote, "If I stayed, I think Amy and I would have destroyed it because we just weren't heading in the same direction; we were pulling it in two different directions. It was bad." Evanescence began with Ben and Amy. Because Amy is still the only original member, they are still authentic

Rock music in general is more underground these days. I mean, when I see the Grammy's there aren't too many rock musicians. Also, good songs are not always popular, and popular songs are not always good. Some of the best songs don’t get played on the radio, but at least those songs won’t get overplayed.

Yes it was Ben who wanted to push the band into a commercial direction and do the same thing over an over, as opposed to experimenting and evolving, that was his focus and a big part of Amy's creative differences with him.

er, not a model. The voice is what matters, and let me assure you, she is talented. I've seen them live twice and I would still go for a third time.
