@wherearewegoing3783 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't go so far, there were a lot of great live stream concerts last year with much better A/V production and set design. Also their The Bitter Truth album is just average, none of songs really stand out for me unlike their previous albums and is plagued with production and mixing issues.
@scottone64983 жыл бұрын
@@wherearewegoing378 Well, Amy Lee herself said she was going for a different sound, MORE highlighting of her band members, LESS of her in the front of all the vocals, etc. This is a statement album, first one away from her old management company, Windup Records.
@miguelromero91893 жыл бұрын
Personally I loved The Bitter Truth. At first it’s true that you could hear some mixing issues here and there but overall, I think it’s a really great album and it met my expectations. Of course I would have liked that electronic vibe to be more present, as in an outro or something, but the album itself is great. Especially Artifact + Broken Pieces Shine
@xPaLmaaHx3 жыл бұрын
@@wherearewegoing378 Average for who? Anyone inside and outside the fandom is placing this album to be of the best records after The Open Door, the album got #1 worldwide for a reason, spotify plays have been increasing by month, any reactor of the album has also agreed with it, any rock site or magazine has placed it 4 stars or above, or an 80 out of 100 in quality and creativity. Tons of songs are really stand outs like Part of Me, Blind Belief, Feedin the Dark, Better without You and more. Mixing was done in this way on purpose, first time they go for a lower tune on guitars using 7 strings in several songs, first time everyone gets to shine. The main difference with Ev right now is that it's a band effort unlike Fallen or TOD which were done by a duo, not a full band putting themselves in there. The lyrics are some of the best mature and realistic we've read from Amy, so... idk what you really talking about, they are no longer a band with an infinite budget from a big label and tons of managers, yet all they have made in the past decade has been done with quality and creativity
@larrylindgren94843 жыл бұрын
@@scottone6498 Why? EV has always been Amy Lee. Without that voice there is no EV. You can plug anyone into the band and life goes on. And she's done that. You unplug Amy Lee and the band is done. No one cares about the band so to speak. She is EV.

Listening to this for the first time and crying. After many years of apathy due to depression - what I've called a state of existing, not living - I'm clawing myself back to life, building myself back up little by little each day. I'm struck now with how I'm still stuck in the mindset of my 'worth' being defined by how 'whole' I manage to become/be in the future. "I don't know if I will ever be alright But I have to try And I know you're with me, so what if we do fall apart? Shamelessly be who we are And let all the broken pieces shine" Thank you for reminding me that there's beauty in the cracks. Worth in survival and fighting to live another day. On high days or low, I don't have to be fine to be alive and have worth. ❤️

The entire band crushed it! Such a clean sound for having edge and intensive tones. Hard beat with matching bass that, even though is repetitive, works since Amy Lee’s vocals bring sustained melodic flow throughout the entire piece. All this with crunchy guitar lead followed by a smooth riff during the chorus and excellent complimenting vocal backups. This is definitely their sound and for those that expect something different can go listen to something different. I saw them live at HOB Disney, a few years ago, when they were getting back into the scene. I can’t wait to see them live again here in Washington State, now that we relocated here from the Florida swamp. Thank you Evanescence! And thank you to the production people behind this. Always great to see a great effort out into production when they could have taken the easy way out. I hope no one criticizes Amy cause she still has “it” and looks as hot as ever. She, no doubt, has been working hard on her vocals to keep the dark angelic whaling, as well as that beautiful silky mid tones, at their peak.
