This version allows you to hear more of the piano and orchestrated parts, obviously, but in this version, you can hear the sorrow and the anger in her voice. Truly a masterpiece.

People keep complaining that her voice has changed since the original was recorded, and at the risk of sounding rude.......duh. it's been over ten years since the open door came out. people do this thing when time passes where they age. pretty wild. honestly tho, of course she sounds more mature. she's still amazing and sounds better live than she ever has now she's not running around the stage and losing her breath support.

I'm saying!! Her voice really wasn't good live until their recent shows. When she sits still or stands still she sounds great. This isn't my favorite album (origin is) but her voice is great on it 😏

Lithium, don't want to lock me up inside Lithium, don't want to forget how it feels without Lithium, I want to stay in love with my sorrow Oh, but, God, I want to let it go Come to bed, don't make me sleep alone Couldn't hide the emptiness; you let it show Never wanted it to be so cold Just didn't drink enough to say you love me I can't hold on to me Wonder what's wrong with me Lithium, don't want to lock me up inside Lithium, don't want to forget how it feels without Lithium, I want to stay in love with my sorrow Don't want to let it lay me down this time Drown my will to fly Here in the darkness I know myself Can't break free until I let it go Let me go Darling, I forgive you after all Anything is better than to be alone And in the end I guess I had to fall Always find my place among the ashes I can't hold on to me Wonder what's wrong with me Lithium, don't want to lock me up inside Lithium, don't want to forget how it feels without Lithium, I want to stay in love with my sorrow Oh, but, God, I want to let it go

I didn't think it was possible, but Amy Lee made this song even more impossible to sing well just because she is an amazing GODDESS with her voice. I already couldn't sing the original without straining my voice, and now I don't know that I should ever try! xD Love, love, love this though.

When she sings "wonder what's wrong with me?" At the end has always been such a painfully beautiful thing to hear her sing because ever since the original was released I felt the most emotion in that sentence. Even watching her live, her voice gets higher and emotional at that part and she has kept that in consistently since the beginning.
