As a Japanese Christian I was moved by this man's words. He is a true minister. In a culture where effective evangelism is done in one on one, this man's words are very true. If all the Japanese Christians can be like the "Lay Minister" as mentioned in this video, many of our neighbors heart can be touched by Christ. Just as this man said, sharing Christ in midst of human relationship problem is very effective evangelism tool. And yes, the very first step for every lay minister is to SAY that you actually go to church. 100% Amen!

Lord Jesus ... Let love rain, like sweet mercy from heaven. Let mercy flow like waves and waves flowing richly from the heart of God. May love arise ... may mercy come forth ... may love and mercy bring forth hearts of compassion. Compassion for the lost, compassion for the thirsty, compassion for the hungry, compassion for the poor, compassion for the homeless, compassion for others. Not in just words or deeds done, but from the depths of the heart seeking to give Glory to God through open arms embracing the needs of others. May we look with the heart of God. May we see with his eyes or mercy and compassion and may we do all things to His Glory. For the river of God is love, may it flow richly through us. For the river of God is sweet mercy, may it flow richly through us. For the river of God is compassion, may they see it in our eyes, hear it from our hearts and see it through open arms embracing the needs of others. --- May we place others even before ourselves and all love like Jesus.

Having lived contextual-evangelism lifestyle both in post-modern Europe & Asian megacity, what’s said here is so true. Just one addition: close walk with God & total satisfaction of His love in daily life is very important. Even more than doing good. Coz even in the presence of sin, the confession & repentance people witness, shows the glory of God, His grace, forgiveness & restorative power.

This was a super informative video! Thank you so much for taking the time time out to share this video... My favorite part is when you said we need to have our own personal breakthrough and in relationship with Christ I think thats a very important thing to remember!

Some good things were said but if this is where we leave our evangelism then we aren't letting the reality of the Bible move us to love those we are sharing with. We should try sharing the whole Gospel in one conversation if we love that person because of Hell. We aren't living in the reality that Hell is real if we are waiting for the 'right time' to share, 3 reasons why from the Bible, 1) Ecc. 9:1-12 You don't know when the person you are talking to will die. 2) Matt. 24:36-40 No one knows when Christ will return 3) You don't know when you will die and get another chance to share the Gospel. His advice on how to bring up your faith is great but if we truly believe in the reality of Hell and what the Bible says do not listen to Tim Keller and the Gospel Coalition and leave your conviction there. Beg and plead for people to cast themselves on Christ and repent!

Wow. Great content. Keller always does well in simplifying what was before a complex concept. I also have to give it to him... He didn't let all the crazy construction noise outside the building bother him when he was trying to record a video.

Yes. That's why it's called faith. You don't have to believe. No one if forcing you but you will find out eventually. My humble suggestion is to simply close your eyes and ask God to reveal himself to you. If he doesn't then you have what you want. If he does, then perhaps he does exist. Don't attempt to understand everything. Some things we will never understand. Hope this helps.

And then he (Jesus) told them, Go into all the world and preach the Good News (Gospel to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. Mark 16:15-16

3:51 - 3:52 "...let it go..". It seems to me that the most common mistake people make when trying to "share the gospel" is being too pushy. Yes, your neighbor may die tonight but better to encourage that neighbor to take one small step TOWARD faith than to be so eager as to greatly diminish that likelihood that your neighbor will ever begin a truly personal journey with the Lord.

Wow! This has been on KZbin since 2011? And I didn't find it until now? "Conservative" congregations preach the gospel (or what they think is the gospel) and sometimes help people "outside" the congregation (and some individuals in conservative congregations help people on their own) but conservative congregations often don't do much to help people they think of as non-Christians. Many "liberal" congregations help people who aren't members of the congregation but speak more about philosophy (or even politics) than about the biblical gospel. Please let me suggest that individual Christians (or families) set the goal (for themselves) of studying the gospel until speaking of it is as natural as breathing AND become involved in PERSONALLY helping non-Christians. I'm more gregarious than my wife is but, as we get acquainted with people, we try to pay attention to where they are spiritually so we can provide personalized encouragement to trust the Lord. And (more before I retired) have been involved in both personal and congregational philanthropy. I'm tempted to say that the most common mistake Christians make is to present too much of the gospel prematurely--answering questions nobody is asking. With regard to prioritizing various aspects of the gospel: I find it helpful to think of the various Christian denominations as having been called by the Lord to various emphases among the many truths about himself. This concept has the potential of reducing the temptation to say that a person or denomination's emphasis is "wrong" because it doesn't include what some other Christian or Christian group is emphasizing. I especially appreciate Pastor Keller's emphasis on "breakthroughs". How about let's begin measuring success, not merely on how many people have made a first-time profession of faith but those times when we see "the light come on" with regard to a particular aspect of truth. Examples include: 1) When a person has been accustomed to speaking about what we "have to" do as Christians (or to become Christians) and that person begins to speak of those same things as what we "get to" do as Christians. 2) When a person has been accustomed to trying to make himself better and begins speaking, instead, of allowing the Lord to transform us. 3) When a person who has been accustomed to thinking of his religion as institutional (as evidenced by by answering questions about his religion by listing his denominational affiliation) begins to make the appropriate distinction between his religion (the sum of those beliefs, practices and prohibitions that pertain to his personal understanding of the highest powers of the universe) and his denominational affiliation. 3 When a person who has been accustomed to thinking and speaking of a kingdom of God on Earth begins speaking, instead, of the kingdom of him who said, "My kingdom is not of this world."

Deuteronomy 25:11 When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: 25:12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.

The evidence is the transformative nature of the believer. I know plenty of people who did not read a book, attend a seminar, hear a sermon but simply stopped trying to change themselves and excepted what Christ had done for them, by repenting and acknowledging who God is and who they are not. Read the Torah; read the Gospels; pray that God softens your heart. It's not rocket science. It's simply a condition of the heart.

I see a man, who is a minster of the gospel, but his problem is that he wants the world to like him, he wants to be ok by both sides. and that can not happen. if you are preaching the true gospel then the world will hate you, they have allways hated us, and they will hate us forever.

I think it might be helpful to understand the theological perspective behind the term. I can appreciate the term perhaps carries connotations that aren’t particularly helpful, but when you look at the theology it conveys, there isn’t much of an issue. Would encourage you to weigh it up with an open Bible and look at whether the theological viewpoint is traceable from Genesis to Revelation.
