We are all Victims to a greater or lesser degree in this life. As hard as it can be we all need to embrace Forgiveness and move on. I know that for many this isn't easy but I can tell you from personal experience that it is worth it. We are not programmed to forget but when we are able to look back on hard times without feelings of bitterness then we have got there. It's all in the Lords prayer.

Who was advising Justin Welby at the time. I can’t believe for a second he took his decision without consulting the “experts “ in “ Lambeth Palce. The advice in that case was dire. My experience is that the Church of England is full of amateurs pretending to be professionals. Since 2013 all Dioceses now have professional safeguarding officers. This is going to go on and on. It’s deeper.

Re: physician assisted suicide. I remember in the 1960's when the Abortion Reform act came in, it too was hedged with all sorts of assurances. By Covid we had pills by post on request. Behaviours don't change...

In plain language, in my humble opinion Welby has a huge ego and totally self involved with self promotion. Has he apologized to those who were abused? Has he shown compassion to those who were abused.

Under Welby, the Church of England came on leaps and bounds on terms of safeguarding. There's now a really robust system in place in my diocese, for example. It's sad and ironic therefore that mishandling historical abuse has removed a man who oversaw the introduction of so much good on this area.

I'm not aware that he ran as a Christian. He is the candidate that wasn't stigmatizing Christians as "Christian Nationalists," which is a complete fabrication and was intended to polarize the electorate and divide the religious vote before the election.
