Howdy. First and foremost I want you to feel the respect I have for you. It begins with the name. You are wise and humble enough to call it an analysis project. You seem to know what you are getting. Not easy, not clear, not short. Kudos. Having that said, lets jump at the discussion of the rebuilds. It is my understanding that these movies can not be anything else than a sequel and there are a zillion details that confirm this. And I'm not talking about weird complicated things that need interpretation like the kaworu dialogs. I'm talking more definite, fiscal and stable. Like the blood on the moon or the color of water. Instrumentality did happen, it was reverted for the humans but the damage to the world was permanent. Here's a link. m.imgur.com/m6QSNIS. Maybe I was wrong, but I was under the impression that this was beyond settled. And you seem to me to be the fairest, serious and most committed eva youtuber, so I'd love it if someone like you took a close and proper look at the facts. And presented a case. Prequel or not.

He means the Rebuild Series could theoretically be a sequel to the original 1995 series, due to the title of the Evangelion 3.0 film. (Redo)

Rebuild is a lot of fanservice. True, animation and music is awesome, but... the original... it tears your soul out, then rippes in to shreds in front of out, and then proccedes to burn it in front of you! Sorry, but no matter how awesome they make the rebuild, original is original! True to the original, forever! Don't anyone ever say you different.
