I moved from the US to Europe in the mid 2000s. My Xbox 360 was NTSC, and all the European games were PAL so they weren't compatible. The only game I ever saw on a shelf that was marked NTSC was this one - and I played it so much. Love seeing Gun content.

Always good to see a video reminding the world this game existed, it was Red Dead Redemption before Red Dead Redemption even existed, deserves SO much more credit than it gets. I swear a remake of it with modern hardware and some expansions on in-game material would make it a damn blockbuster of a game.

I must have played through this game at least ten times in a row when it first came out. I still say it's one of the best western-style games out there. My favorite line from the whole game is when you kill Hoodoo. Hoodoo: "I'M HOODOO BROWN!!!" Colt: "You were." (Fun fact: Hoodoo Brown was a real person, believe it or not. Gun has a few characters that were pulled from history.)
@sadscientisthououinkyouma18679 ай бұрын
It laid the groundwork for Red Dead Redemption, and to top it off the game has among the best voice acting in any game mainly because they assembled an proven veteran cast of western actors. Also being made by people who had no experience in this game genre (or setting) makes the game far more impressive. It is to me such an tragic waste that Activision (I think they are the IP holders) refuse to do anything with the Gun IP. There are very few western games and ALL OF THEM sell like hotcakes, people yearn for the American myth and in terms of market share, Gun and Red Dead do not compete with each other. Gun is an spaghetti western of the most absurd variety, while Red Dead is an strange fusion of the more serious western with the spaghetti western creating both constituting its highest and lowest points.
@loneronin68139 ай бұрын
@@sadscientisthououinkyouma1867 You make excellent points that I definitely agree with, especially in regards to Activision not doing anything with the Gun IP as I would love to see more from it and its world. I'm not big on most shooters, but I love western-style games so I completely understand what you mean and it really is a shame that not many games are out there in the genre.

This is an epic classic. Still have it on OG XBOX alongside the PSP Showdown version, it's a shame we never got a follow up. This was the best thing we had there... After I aged out I went and bought this right away... I'm sure the red dead redemption team took notes because red dead revolver had nothing on this game.
