This game was such a big part of my childhood! I remember the first time I played was when I lent it from a friend in a school bus. Everyone I knew who knew about this game mutually agreed that this game was basically GTA in the wild west. That's enough to have any middle school boy excited to play. And the fact that it was made by one of my favorite dev teams from back then made it more special to me. Though I do have some gripes with it. Aside from it being too short, the pacing of the dialogue felt too slow and the crosshair oddly placed, being too close to the player's head. But I guess you can just get used to them as you play this awesome game.

It's crazy and nostalgic because as a 30 year old adult i have no recollection of how I got GUN, i didn't have the money to buy it and my parents surely didn't pay for it, but it ended up in my possession and I put in at the very least 100 hours into the game and still have my ps2 copy to this day, it was amazing and when red dead redemption came out I was all to willing to buy it, the memories and nostalgia is all to real, a sequel to gun I really think would be welcome buy its fans, it has almost a cult following at this point

To this day, I don’t know why I love GUN as much as I do. Played it a lot as a kid, probably shouldn’t have. When proving ground had the poster and I didn’t really know that never soft wasn’t really making games anymore I had high hopes that it would eventually be made. Wonderful video! This games super underrated. I’ll die on this hill.

Man I was like 8 when this came out. I remember playing red dead revolver but I can’t remember ever playing GUN and I’m a huge RDR1/2 fan

That's a chunk of time! I remember being excited when red dead came out because of how great "Gun" was. Back in like 2004-5 or something

Great review! I was obsessed with Gun and Red Dead Revolver as a kid. I loved the little imperfections that made them unique. I feel like games today are too polished, which washes away their charm

Too polished?? You're lucky to have a half-working game at release nowadays. Glorified tech demos at beta testing status...

I'll never forget the penultimate cutscene in this game. To say it was unexpected would be an understatement.

Such an AWESOME experience playing this way back when. I still have my Xbox game among my other classic experiences. Great job with the video, good sir!
