Jim, I see your specs say the carbine is 35". Pyramyd lists it at 40" even though though they haven't yet stocked the .357 carbine yet.

Nice review of this carbine. Glad to see it's as accurate as it is, but I thought I saw that the cocking action might not be very smooth. Can you comment on that, and the trigger? A small thing here: at around 2:00 you mistakenly state 200 bar is just about 2000 psi, when it's actually just about 3000 psi. I can see how easily mis-speaking that can happen, and that you meant to say 3000. Great review!

How do you guys fill your supply tanks? At the local dive shop? I have this Evanix rifle and I have a Benjamin supply tank, the small one, I found it annoying to keep running down to the dive shop so I bought a high pressure compressor so I can fill my tank whenever I need to. However, first of all, just finding all the various connections for the compressor, tank adapters, etc. and quite frankly without common industry standards this becomes a huge issue because you don't know exactly what you need it's sort of trial and error and that can get expensive. All these guys make it look easy but for me somehow it's not going like I planned. Now that most of the air is out of the gun will I have a problem filling it when I do try to fill it again?

I have several tanks and a local Paintball store that will fill all of them to 4500 psi for a low price. I do have a compressor at my buddies farm in South Africa where air is less conveniently obtained, but honestly find a 15 minute drive and $10 to fill 4-5 tanks is much more economical and easy for me. Sometimes if your gun empties completely, when you go to refill the air leaks right back out the barrel. If this happens make sure the gun is empty, cock it, then fill. Good luck to you!

americanairgunhunter Thank you so much. Somebody else on KZbin also said to cock the gun while filling. I'm not going to start my new compressor in the really cold weather just yet but it's an Italian made small compressor weighs about 90lbs and it's made to refill scuba tanks. If I'm able to run the thing without too much trouble I might start my own fill station right where I'm at. Thanks again! Cheers!

I have .177 sniper x2. I am not happy with the quality. Just a few mags the air was leaking, air leak came out from left side of the gun. It was fixed by the seller but then a new trouble came out, the accuracy was so bad. I sent it back to the seller and i havent received any news till now.

I have an Evanix Sniper-K bought in 2019 in the carbine this written engraved 250 Bar but in the pressure gauge the green color zone goes exactly until the 200 bar after it is red up to the 400 Bar, buy a few days have not yet filled the air cylinder. Anyone who understands these things can tell me if I can safely fill up to 250 Bar ???

I have always filled mine to 3000 psi (a little over 200 BAR), though I do have an older version. I don't know if that has changed but will ask my contacts at Evanix. I don't think the cylinder would fail on you, but you may lock it up if the pressure is too high.

I've done some modifications to my rifle, but as I recall it was getting a solid 15 shots in stock form. I'll see if I can dig up my notes and find the details from out of the box testing.

nice review mr chapman.i write from mexico,we are a group of organized airgunners,that really enjoy airguns, especially big bores, we have, career fire 9mm,ultra9mm,wolverine .303 ,daq .308,haley .308,gargoyle .45,sam yang .45,and many other big bore airguns, we now that each airgun has a especial use in the field, for us the korean airguns result to be more resistant in our hunting trips(javelina,coyote,turkey,and other species).in your experience if you compare the evanix sniper .357 vs sam yang recluse 9mm ,especifically in energy levels,and shot count.wish one you consider a better value for this kind of airgunning?

fantasmayata I like both of these, and have used both for a lot of hunting. both are accurate, the Recluse is a bit more powerful, but for the type of game you're after either is a great gun. Great video. I am loving my Sniper .357 full size. I am looking forward to going hog hunting. What would you say the max yardage with a head shot would be? I had someone from one of the forums make me a 3D printed single shot tray. Works perfect. Thanks for the review.

Air Marksman Personally I'd keep it to 50 yards, head shots can be tough on hogs. Would like to hear more about the single shot tray.

+William Herron It's putting out just about 100 fpe and is one of my go to predator guns right now. I'm working on a an update I'll post on my website soon.

David Morgan David, I am in Minneapolis. Pyramyd has been the sole importer for the domestic market, but at the last SHOT Show Evanix told me that some models might go through a different channel. Because I'm the airgun columnist at Predator Xtreme and the hunting host on American Airgunner, I sometimes get products shipped straight from the manufacturer, and before its released to market.
