I dont know if you'll see this, but your spring/gas piston videos are my favorites on the subject. You treat them seriously, unlike many who see them as archaic and outdated. I'm not just some old fart who loves the good old days, either. I'm 16 and just passed my driving test today. They genuinely have a place in a hunters kit the same way pcp rifles do.

@@SlingAndStones thanks for taking the time to comment, it is appreciated. Think it’s great that a young guy sees the value of springers. I think you are completely right in that there is a continuing place for these guns in every small game hunters arsenal. BTW: congrats on the driving text!

I am new to PCP airguns and am buying one good one. I am thinking an FX MK3 would you recommend that, and if so would you go for the 25 or the 30? For mostly small game hunting and target shooting. Thank you for your advice.
@americanairgunhunter15 күн бұрын
@@jaybubb5500 Ithi k the FX MK3 is a great choice, and either caliber is a solid choice. If you skew more towards target I’d go.25, if you will go after predators as well as small game the .30, and if its pretty balanced between small game and target it doesn’t matter as much but I’d probably stick with .25.I think both will also work well if you’ll be shooting longer range, but I still like the .25 as the more flexible option. Good luck and enjoy your gun!

Leopold claims now that all of their scopes are springer rated. I have an email from them about it. They do suggest that their rimfire line is best for airguns/break barrels.

Excellent gun! I have on in 22. It shoots nickel sized groups at 50 yards with the JSB Hades 15.89. The way it comes, it is tuned way too fast! Check out Ken's video on Airguns and Pestings. 3 part series. If you remove the spacer, behind the trigger spring, at least for the 22, you will be able to tune it down to a more accurate power level. With the 25, things might be different.

AMAZING. A channel where the speaker is not accompanied by "music" (really what we used to call "Muzak" or "elevator music"). This fellow has music at the very beginning of the show then stops it when he starts really talking about the subject. Bravo! I can't tell you how many channels I've THUMBED DOWN and not SUBSCRIBED to b/c of that bloody, stupid "music". And now back to you show.
@MrStensnaskАй бұрын
These big, powerful airguns are impressive, no doubt, but could you at some point maybe make a video about the best break barrel air rifles for "the zombie apocalypse" when you just need a reliable, long term, no frills, low maintenance hunting rifle for small game? :) Also, great music in your vids!
@MrStensnaskАй бұрын
This was genuinely helpful. I'm currently putting together a "when the shit hits the fan" kit that, incidentally, also serves as an all round great camper/hiker survival kit. To round it off I need a highly reliable hunting tool for small game and I couldn't think of anything better than an air rifle in 4,5 mm/cal.177 because it's - as you also said in your great video - incredibly reliable, cheap to get and cheap to run. I still haven't decided what gun I'm gonna get. I think I'd really like a gun with Quietfire / Nitro Piston technology because it's so quiet and easy on the gun. Can you recommend a gun with that at around 360$?
