I just read the description. You BUILT the dulcimer? Man, I was already blown away by your rendition of the Lullaby, then I read THAT. Dude, awesome.

OK, now you've got me listening to video music, I've listened to Witcher 3 and I realise that there's a lot of work and arranging to be done before playing it on your dulcimer! As your piece is not copied but inspired by... You even giving your piece a title, and it easily earns it's place among the other pieces on the soundtrack. Very good and interesting work, must take ages! I've just listed to yours non stop for 30mins at least, to remember it. I'll even use it on nyckel for playing slowly and using bow properly, ( I hope)... It's your turn to be in bed at this time

Thank you, but this piece actually is directly from the soundtrack (original linked below). I believe it’s from a trailer/cinematic rather than in-game. I did my best to learn the melodies of both the vocals and the instrument backing. Glad you enjoy it anyhow. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHe4pIOcqtydptk

Hi, Evan! Super! Not easy to keep in time when so slow! I see you've taken to playing indoors! I had to go and walk outside to listen! It's night here but the weather is good. There's very little network here, a real nuisance, 5 mins with, 10 mins without! Watching, I realise how you can play something so soon. If it isn't a jig, I mean. For finding good Swedish nyckel music try Vasen, a good group, even a video with Ruchad Eggl Leif Alpsjo
@dididoo2 жыл бұрын
With Ruchad Egglestone and his cello. Leif is 77yrs and still going strong. Played all his life. Anders Mattson best Swedish nyckel player when he was 16yrs. Emilie Waldken a Swiss girl gone Swedish. Do you know a video game Dominions? The names I gave last time did music for it, number 4 maybe. Quite amusing to isten to, a very simple tune, but they repeat it in 4 different minor scales, "how to make a little go a long way!" I spent 3 hours yesterday writing it down.

I know nothing about instruments, so please forgive me, but could you actually play these covers on an actual dulcimer if you bought one? Also do you have to re-tune and take apart the instrument for every song? Some of them sound too different to not re-tune. It looks like that would be a lot of work re-tuning your dulcimer.
