As a beginner the goal of an art fair might be to grow a fan base or to get viewer feedback of your work. As a seasoned veteran making sales would definitely be the top goal.

The walls are called Pro Panels (propanels.com). Another option is to use mesh walls made by a company called Creative Energies.

I like your tips, I will hopefully start doing some shows this summer. I understand your logic about keeping your theme in tact as well as not being cluttered. This is where I become frustrated. Although I am a painter, I have been doing more sculptures. I used to only sculpt in clay but have recently learned to sculpt in wool and jute twine. Part of my display would have a theme of sculpting pet heads, I can easily have a section with this theme. However I have my jute twine sculptures, plus I have other wool animal sculptures, and I have also learned macrame to make some shelves for my free standing sculptures, but some of my sculptures are incorporated into the macrame. I have a mess! Some artist have told me, "well don't bring everything", but how I know what I should bring or what not to bring. Most of my sculptures are higher priced, so I am trying to make an inventory of simpler items like macrame wall hangings or plant hangers, that I can sell at a lesser price. I'm stressed out and haven't purchased my tent yet. I love your layout, I love the darker walls, I think they show your products in a really great way. I am assuming my only solution will be trial and error. I enjoy your videos Tim
@EvanReinheimer Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I think you found the solution and that’s to kind of use trial and error to find what works best for you. You want your display to look good, clean and uncluttered. Good luck and great sales!

@@EvanReinheimer Thank you Evan Reinheimer. I will be doing my first show on July 22. It will be an indoor cat show so I won't need to buy a tent just yet; but I am looking at buying a used Nissan cargo van that has the bulk head and and factory installed shelves. I am old, making these major decisions is really stressful. Thanks for your reply, and again congratulations on being a new daddy. I wish the best for you and your family.

Curious how you made your price placards with the various sizes and cost. They are really nice !
@EvanReinheimer Жыл бұрын
They are printed photographs that have been pasted to styrene (plastic). I then put sticky back velcro on the back of the plastic to attach them to the pro panels.

Evan, would you share what is the brand of the tent? Also would you share what the size is for the ProPanels? Seven feet...adjust lets? Lastly do you hang the Harmon hanger metal clip on the back mount? Thanks again...you are most helpful. I've never done a booth show and if I do it...I want to get it right. You're our go-to guy!!
@EvanReinheimer5 жыл бұрын
hom296 the tent I use is a Light Dome made by a company called Creative Energies. I recommend this tent or a Trimline as heavy duty tents. I think my panels are 7’ but the panels in this video do NOT have adjustable legs. I highly recommend getting Pro Panels WITH adjustable legs. I use a minimum of 2 Harmon Hooks for all my hanging work, I hook them directly to the frame on the back, doing that makes it easier to level and even out the hanging work. You can also hook them to the wire on the back but I find it easier to hook to the actual frame. Glad you’re enjoying the videos. I have more in the edit bin to come.

@EvanReinheimer3 жыл бұрын
I prefer the 3 full wall look as you can see in my videos. I feel the best thing to do is keep it simple and uncluttered. Take a look as some of my other videos from art festivals, I include a lot of footage of different booths and maybe you can get some ideas that way too.

You're videos are awesome! Thanks for the wonderful information. What do you do when the larger pieces sell? Do you replace the space right away and if so how much back stock do you bring with you? Also regarding your smaller prints... How many of each photo do you print and do you put the duplicates in the bin or do you keep them hidden until someone buys?
@EvanReinheimer5 жыл бұрын
Kim Sowa thank you, I’m glad you like my videos! When a large piece sells off the wall, I either replace it if I have something that will fit the size, and theme of the space. If I don’t have something that fits in a sensible way, I reorganize the wall space so that it doesn’t look like something is missing. I like the look of the walls to always “flow” and leaving a big empty space doesn’t usually look good. Sometimes it just takes some reorganizing of the pieces that are left. I generally only have only one of each large piece, unless I am on the road for a while, in that case I may have a few of my more popular pieces. For prints, I always have multiple of each, but I only put one out at a time and keep the duplicates in storage and replace as people buy.
@kimsowa8205 жыл бұрын

How about using chiken wire to hang my paintings from for walls in my booth? Thank you
@EvanReinheimer3 жыл бұрын
That’s an inexpensive choice, if you have no other option. My first display wall was made similar to that. However, it’s very unlikely that any juried art festival will allow you to use walls like that. But, for smaller, more casual events, it may be an effective option if you have a limited budget.
@Beachbumartist3 жыл бұрын
@@EvanReinheimer I have never been a show out doors and the show is this Saturday and i know it would probably look kind of ghetto but maybe go that route possibly. the show is small in a park. I was looking at that option as being light weight as well for hanging paintings too. Thank you
