One of the Greatest Teachers in the World on the drumset ever. Very in dept with everything, and very deeply explained, and knowledgable. What a great man Ed Soph.

I studied with Ed at UNT and I owe ALL of my swing, bop, big band, chart reading, playing over a vamp, etc., to this man. Remember, this is ART and it is subjective. For the record, he IS right. If you don't practice...well, let's just say I want to be more than just a "decent" player. Ed made me the educator/performer/clinician I am today. Thanks for everything, Mr. Soph!

I'd have to say that this has been one of the best brush lessons that I've ever seen, and it's so well explained and easy to understand and accomplish..... thanks Ed! Blessings!!!

Ed, SUPER lesson. So far you are the only teacher I have found on the web who carefully explains and demonstrates the technique of holding the brush for maximum results with minimum effort a la the French grip. Therefore your swish or swirl is lush and exciting. Tonight as I watch TV I will practice the right hand via your instruction while driving my wife and dog to distraction! THX!

This is of incredible value. I've played brushes every now and then, looking for online lessons to get my playing into some shape, then I found this. After practicing a few hours this morning, the concepts here explained finally gave me the technique I wanted, to be able to play what I hear in my head. Spending some time on the basic strokes and techniques immediately proved to be rewarding. Just a few hours of this made me a better sounding brush player, leaving me with the feeling I can get the results I want. Thank you Mr. Soph and Evans!

Excellent brush video. You get the points across quick and give support for why you suggest these techniques. Nice!

This is exactly what I was looking for! Someone who breaks it down instead of just showing you the end product. Excellent

This is a brilliant lesson, I’ve only shedded it once, and it’s already been beneficial. I’ll need another week or so to get the right sound. Thanks Ed!

One needs to practice at least 6 days per week. If not it will catch up with you no matter who you are. If you are playing several days a week with a group one might get away with not practicing on those days. I have been playing for 50 years and I still don't know Jack. Joe Morello would carry a practice pad with him and practice before every gig. Ed thanks for what you do for the drum world. Byron

6 days is for the inferior musician. Any real virtuoso will practice at least 4 days per day

super - clear, useful information, I can already do this but Ed was giving me some insights I'd overlooked, like the ring going into fleshy part of hand..cool stuff.
