Excellent video. You are the type of person that prevents other guys from getting parts they don’t need, or getting taken advantage of by an unscrupulous mechanic. We are all suffering money wise out here and I’d just like to say “thanks for the heads up”. Peace be with you and go with God my brother. 👍👍

Its 2023 ive had my 01 ram 1500 bought it with the evap leaks and never fixed it. Now it got worse cause it’s draining fuel like a semi. I have had the truck for 5 yrs. Can’t believe it took me this long to find out where the evap lines were. Im going to try to fix this. Thank you so much for the great video

Vacuum leaking it’s a complicated thing if you let it go or stay, my Dodge is giving me the code p0505 which is the air control valve but when I replaced it I still had the code, then a friend told me you have a vacuum leak but I wasn’t getting any evap codes and he said trust me, sure enough several hoses were broken replaced all of them mad at myself and then engine light and codes off, man I tell you I went fishing for a week just to celebrate, that headache lasted almost three years is like being in jail for a crime you didn’t commit, uffffff fried fish for dinner

This helped me out on a 2001 Durango in 2021! Your video allowed me to be able to see what I can't without dropping the tank. Thanks for the video!

I know this is an old post, but it helped me identify a hose that was dangling under my truck. I found that it went to the evap canister, but didn't know where is came from, until this video. Thanks!

Thanks for the post man. I just pulled this code from my Dodge (my rig's even the same color as yours...lol). Now that I know it's nothing that will leave me stranded and can wait until the weekend, I'm gonna do just that but this weekend I'll try to run it down, and yes, everyone can screw off if they don't appreciate your video!

I forgot to thank the uploader for this video. Thank you VERY much, mate! I'll take some of that snow! St. Louis has been getting ripped off lately. No good severe thunderstorms or snow in the last couple of years. heh

Thanks for the video, we replace the engine on one of our trucks, but we did not reconnect the hoses properly in those valves that you show at the beginning of your video, you just save me $$$$ with this info... thanks again...

yes, the gas tank rollover is a multi hose block. The small nipples are prone to break off. Mine was one that went up to gascap compartment. I bought a short metal brake line, cut it & inserted into both tube/block connector and JB welded. Strong!

Way cool video , I see its 10 years old but still helps, Ive got a evap leak that i cant find for the past 2 years on my Dodge. Ive swaped so many parts and still have a PO442 code. Ive even taken it to 3 different mechanics and they tell me to sell the truck , screw them! But Im lost on this evap problem.

When the truck first started acting up, did it sound like a air hose spraying when you pushed on the gas pedal? Then went away? High rpms 2 thousand rpm

How do you know where it's leaking can I test it
@anthonylamb687 жыл бұрын
seriously if you don't know it can be dangerous because you assume every house you see is related to EVAP you will wind up actually messing with a fuel line. and wind up leaking fuel and got forbid hurt someone
@tscooter227 жыл бұрын
That part you showed that costs $97, what is it called? I'm having a heck of a time finding replacement hoses and connectors online. I presume that isn't part of the canister, is it? From what I've been told, that boot connecter/joiner looks cracked (this is my employee's car).
@leif95557 жыл бұрын
I just used a generic hose and fittings from the auto store, and in not sure what that part is called
@tscooter227 жыл бұрын
I was wondering if that might be a possibility. Thanks for your reply, Leif a!! :thumbs up:
@anthonylamb687 жыл бұрын
that thing does not cost 97 dollars. you replace with a coupling or replacement house end which cost next to nothing. you can replace your entire EVAP system for that price

black box near fuel tank it's called fuel pump.. and a leak in the fuel line from cap would cause gas to literally leak as a liquid. I am embarrassed for you . if you have to guess while your trying to teach you don't know what your doing and shouldn't bother doing a video.. I'm not trying to be an asshole but needed to be said
