can this code be caused by a worn intake manifold gasket? the reason i ask is i am occasionally getting coolant into the combustion chamber at cold start up. there is no coolant in the engine oil or oil in the coolant though

The EVAP system is separate from the engine. The purge valve is the only component that is connected to the engine, and it just sends the gas vapors to it. An intake leak is likely a separate issue.

My truck just recently came back from the shop. They had dropped my gas tank and now I have my truck back and when I add fuel it seems the connection to the top of the tank is leaking terribly only when adding fuel. How can I fix this so I do not have to bring it back to them. My check engine light came on with that evap code as well could this fuel leak be the reason? Thank you

Thank you for tge info! Will this code cause my car to die as I'm going down the road? In tge last 2 months I've broken down twice,but after sitting for like 10 mins it started back up and I made it home. I'm getting 5 codes when I run my autolink tester, codes P0442,P0455,P0172,P01490 and P0420

With those codes, I would start by looking for a vacuum leak and test the MAF sensor.

I get the same think po442 and mine dies checked for leaks can't find anything bad at all

This code has come up on me numerous times when a cam positioning sensor has failed. Vehicle will cut off. I have no idea why it would throw this code but it has. Normally shuts down under a load and sometimes it'll just sputter and go.

Will it cause sputtering while driving?

If the purge valve is stuck open, it can affect the engine.
