Eva Volf+ Thank you for teaching us your skills with detailed info. Much appreciated. Some artists only show time lapse videos and no explanations and when you ask them they do not respond or give very little away; in my opinion, they are insecure people. Other artists like yourself, find fulfillment in teaching others, which shows confidence and generosity of spirit. Thank you Eva.

Hi Eva, This is a really great way to paint waves and reflections. I've started this on white canvas board. Pthalo turquoise works great for most of the shadow areas. For a more bluer dark tone, I added prussian blue to pthalo turquoise. For a lighter shade, I used neutral gray (Ivory black + titanium white) and titanium white for the ocean floor and other areas. I noticed that adding cadmium lemon to pthalo turquoise just resulted in a bright greener shade, hence I avoided it. However, if I use pthalo blue, it is great to use Naples yellow for the lighter tones. In the end, I would strongly recommend pthalo turquoise or teal blue for the brighter tones. Rest, everyone has their own unique style. Many thanks for this video.

Hi Eva, loved your paints, and this one is my favorite so far. I loved the way you explained and show the process in detail. I just have one question (I started to learn recently). For this paint you said that it takes 3 session for that 3 weeks each for them to dry. In the video is not possible to notice when you do that, so since I'm still learning I not sure what is the best moment to wait until you start the new session. Could you tell me please ( I dont want to ruin the painting and I really want to try). 😊😍
@EvaVolf3 жыл бұрын
Wait a week to be sure the first layer dries completely. It should be dry to the touch
@sophieauert4 жыл бұрын
Oh how wonderful! You are an amazing artist. I have a quick question: when you use your dry brush to blend, it seems like you are spraying it from time to time with a spray bottle you are holding in your other hand. What liquid is in the bottle and why is it necessary to spray the brush? Thanks for sharing your talent with us. 😊

Indeed beautiful!!!! Question: Is it necessary to keep the painting for drying for one week? Can we keep it for 2 days instead?
@EvaVolf4 жыл бұрын
It’s totally up to you, if it’s dry enough in your studio and you used a fast drying medium, like Liquin Original, you probably can return to it in 2 days already

amazing painting you are a fantastic artist, i love seascapes. but watching the time lapse when you were adding the highlights i cant see how you added the shafts of lights coming down through the water. you are doing the surface ripples and it just to the next bit and they are there? could you please tell me how to do it because that just sets the painting off beautifully. Russell

I've watched about 6 or 7 of your videos and I appreciate both your skill and your generosity. Thank you. Do you regularly use gallery wrap canvas? Your blending is very fun to watch as you draw out depth. The water in my area is all rock based and I like to include some fish [mostly salmon or trout], but thanks for showing me techniques to render them better.
