Rail pilot here. I like using 3 burst aerator rigs with HPC to keep the implant up faster and active for longer
@Gromire3 ай бұрын
@@Dantoni36 nice tip, I will likely do the same when I start flying Adrestia, and now I wonder if I should be doing that with my Fiend as well to charge the Fpcus Crystal faster 🤔
@Dantoni363 ай бұрын
I mean, if you're going for burst-damage I think switching to pulse crystal might be a more viable option. Unlike the focus Crystal, HCP needs to be active to really get its damage up. And at least at the same level, and with nanocores primary stat being damage, 3 burst aerators have higher DPS than 2 with a collision accelerator
@Gromire3 ай бұрын
@@Dantoni36 usually fighting high EHP battleships so top DPS is more ideal than burst damage. If I was looking to fight cruisers probably pulse would be a better laser option. Keep in mind, I don’t have pulse crystal anyway, so the decision is not as hard as you may think 😉

@@Akuro12 I think the chameleon might have benefited the most from this, as the sniper mode is not incredibly useful overall, very situational. Extra scram or disrupters is great to have with so much warp stability going around, especially for hunting mining ships like Orcas

I fly fiend in defense a lot. This plus 1 mod makes my fiend fit insane. And I mean insane. Now I can dual web and nos as well as bubble. Highly effective for tackling a roaming fast BS as well as disregarding them neuts for a good bit. Im pumped! Never really needed the Defensive mode for myself. But now with only a 25% reduction to speed. Ill have to play with this thing. Im pretty sad about the Chameleon though because now I lose that wicked drone speed boost from its snipe mode. The snipe module now doesnt state that the drones get a speed boost. Maybe they do. But that drone speed was clutch in sniping frigs that thought they were fast.

Tbh I run both. Snubs when I know I'll just go brawl, burst target and run. Makes you vulnerable to long range kiters. Rifled rails more flexible, can run pve and pvp, webs control range, easier to break contact too

@Gromire the ability that reduces speed is only useful against other crusers who could be faster than your... orthus or phantasma or fiend.. the strategy is already faster than all the other crusers so it is insane against them

You're right, the original damage reduction was 50%. But the original resistance increase was also 50%

@almajensen4053 ай бұрын
Have you considered using pulse crystals instead of focus crystal? Having your dps start high plus some built in nos drain could be nasty. I feel like pulse is good but often overlooked. I'm playing around with multi frequency and it's interesting if you select em boost losing some thermal but reducing you oponents em resist or select thermal and you can get more thermal dps than you do em. Plus your damage stays constant rather than fluctuating. Down side isqx damage is lower.
