I mean it already worked with EvE echoes the only reason it failed was CCP ruining the economy and the game as a whole. At this point i genuinely believe EVE needs either a hard reset or a soft reboot. If EvE frontiers is that then i hope it succeeds. One of the big problems with EvE right now is that it feels like a second job and is mostly incompatible with 90% of peoples way of playing games nowadays.

I find it hard to believe that *no* dev time, focus or resources that could go toward EVE Online ended up in this project. For the past few years the EVE team seems to consist of 5 people or less. Changes and updates are small or underdeveloped. EVE is a great game and could receive better treatment. Hopefully, this is not an EVE 2, because EVE doesn't deserve to be a blockchain scam.

I've been saying this on and off for nearly 20 years, having played almost the entire time - dev resources are finite, pour them into the game that is fueling the entire company. Developing DUST and Valkyrie back in the day was fine, as EVE was near its peak player levels, and everything seemed to be firing on all cylinders - makes sense to diversify back then, in case anything went sideways in EVE, and to expand market share. 2024 is not the early 2010s, between scarcity and mediocre player numbers, all hands need to be on-deck for EVE. With Equinox being the failure that it is, and with mixed success to Havoc, CCP needs to come out swinging to keep EVE alive and going, not distract themselves with a new crypto game.

what mediocre player numbers ? it peaked to 60k in 2010s then fell back to 40k and still , you talking as if its planetside 2 now maintained by only a loyal 1000 . you have to understand players get fatigue and seek events , its same happening to helldivers who's players didnt quit they are just waiting for more additions and the squid alien invasion . until then they wait . same here . those who play for 20 years are free to retire , there is enough peoples still playing but to get more peoples need something like the triglavian war again or drifter war who both attracted lot of players in 2015 and 2018

There is, to this day, not a single pay to earn/blockchain game that has achieved success. Many have earned the developers a ton of money but they've always been garbage for the players. It really makes me concerned with CCPs motives here. It feels like they want to set up a massive rug pull to get a cash injection. Blockchain games are DOA. Given CCPs track record for games that aren't EVE Online, why do they think they would have more success? The only reason they exist is because they put a lot of effort into one single game and got really really lucky. Play EVE while you can because I think this is another nail in the overall coffin.

@eipebpeax If they want to make money if that's what you're trying to say. Making projects won't help them in the long run if it just keeps failing. Just think how much money these projects are to fund and build that don't work? Them getting the play base back into EVE like we had before scarcity will. By making the inflation in isk come down. Doing so would cause more players to come back, better health for the game, and allow for newer players to get into it without it feeling even more forever out of reach with every update. Plus with cost of projects typical C++/C# programmers Cost a decent amount. Not including all the other programmers, artists, writers, etc etc. So why pull resources or higher more people for a 4th go around at probably another failing project? There's probably no way this game will even get half the amount of normal players as EVE.
