@WorthCart: A Bubble is a common term for "Warp Interdiction Spheres" or "Warp Disruption Spheres", those pull ships ending up close and in line of the bubble out of warp, and prevent stuff from warping out of it.

It's an area of effect superweapon with a 250km range that only titans can use, they can only use it once per hour. It does a lot of damage to every ship within range and will kill most things smaller than a battleship in one hit.

Well, it deals a significant blow to the enemy alliance, a single titan costs about as much as 600 battleships 3. Titans are useful in combat, as they have a weapon that hits every ships on the battlefield. They're even more important as logistics ships because they can basically teleport entire fleets across several systems.

this happened when a BoB mining fleet was caught ofguard and was destroyed in a suprise attack. that titan that u see was holding about 2 billion dollars worth of mining materials and supplies. after this attack happened the band of brothers(BoB) had declared war on the corporation that did this thus resulting in the mighty attack which bob came in with 22 titans and about 50 fully equipped battleships and wiped out the corporation that did this.

Titans are primarily used as heavy support. They provide considerable bonuses for fleets that they're with, and also allow the creation of jump bridges, which allows people be moved from A to B without using stargates.

@Yin117 it's the combination of electronic warfare making it seem to do hardly anything, some of the ships were 'bubbling' which is where they create a sphere in which ships cannot warp out to escape, others would have been using webifiers to slow it, and others would be using various jammers and scramblers to stop it from locking on to shoot stuff. This is why all it appears to do is send out a pulse occasionally which is it's smartbomb as that doesnt need to lock on to fire

As for why they're always hiding, Titans make very attractive targets after they fire their doomsday devices (their main weapons) because they can't jump out of the system (if I remember correctly). So they usually warp in, fire their weapon, and warp out before the enemy can respond. If you can trap one, however, enough firepower can bring it down.

The titan was baited out to DD 15 hacs that were camping BOB in that station. BOB had approx 35 people in space. When it warped in it didn't have time to warp out before some cloaked Dictors slapped bubbles on it and then our fleet that was nearby poared into system.

He couldnt warp out cuz he used the special titan thing where it kills like EVERYTHING. And he wasnt able to warp. And there was back up,its not like there was 0 backup. There was a small backup,but they were extremely out-numbered by the offensive force on the titan.

@xxth0mpsonxx A titan is a huge capital ship that costs billions of isk(in game currency) which translates to potentially hundreds of dollars to produce, most large player corporations will maybe have 2 or 3. The titan in the video is the avatar and its one of 4 different Titans in the game that can be made.

a new patch has launched same day that changed titans mechanics, cant remember what it was, but this titan pilot did not understand the changes, all he wanted to do is use his superweapon and jump out again, but patch changes changed something, that made it easier to tackle a titan to prevent warp or some crap.

If the video description is correct and the year was 2009, SirMolle, the pilot of the titan and the leader of Band of Brothers, was giving commands safely inside a starbase's shields in preperation for an assault on the Northern Coalition. However, a small Machariel battleship had acquired the password to the starbase, snuck in, and rammed the titan, giving enough inertia to push it out of the shields. As soon as it was out, Pandemic Legion warped in, quickly destroyed it, and escaped.

I wouldn't call that stress, more like frothing bloodlust. On a side note this has to be like the most infuriating/depressing thing ever for the Titan pilot. You know your dead, no one is coming to help you, and all you can do is futility flail at swarming attackers as you slowly watch your ship melt away around you powerless to avert your inevitable fate in anyway.

Actually, Ascendant Frontier had the first Titan. It was piloted by CYVOK, who logoffski'd after trying to solo an entire fleet... DD'd, logged off, and lost it. Later, he claimed "network error" to try and get it back. BoB had the 2nd Titan.

Only to a certain extent. Shrike stupidly sat in a jump bridge POS, that all their allies knew the password for, for hours. PL waited till he activated his jump portal and then bumped him out with speed tanked typhoons, pointed Shrike and then dropped caps on him. He was gone inside a minute.

Killing a Titan is a pretty huge thing. In many fights if a titan warps in and you don't have a HUGE fleet or another titan to back you up, you get pummeled. The size of them are just chaotically huge, I don't think 'many' can fly them as of. They normally has a doomsday weapon that hurts like hell, search Eve Online Doomsday if you want to see some pretty effects. But you can tell how huge it is via looking at it, and how the explosion literally covers all the ships x 100 ;)

That was one of our roaming fleets that saw an opportunity. Fairly typical size really for the time, about 110 to 120 pilots. Sadly Kenny alone cant scrape 40 people into a fleet on their own these days.

@1993futuremarine At the time titans rarely had turrets because their guns were far weaker than today, and they never were on the field for long. The smartbombs were because the only way to stop a titan warping off was to drop warp disruption bubbles on it, and the only way to destroy the bubbles was to smartbomb them or DD them.

I just looked in game at the Judgement DD, and the duration is 600s = 10 min. This of course is after the DD changes. I found on eve-wiki (dot) net a 3600s reactivation delay, which I believe was how the old DD worked, like how it would have been in this video.

It's because they didn't have anywhere close to the numbers necessary to engage this fleet, so they pretty much let the titan die and avoided further casualties.

Right now, as of 29 April 2012, around $20 will get you 30 days subscription time which you can sell in game to another player as an item which is approximately worth to 475,000,000 isk. That might not be the official way of figuring out how much ISK is worth in real dollars, but that's how I figure it.
