yep it did kind of flop at the end but Papi leadership knew that taking 1dq was never going to happen so they decided to save their super and titan fleets and leave which was smart really as if they commited their entire super and titan fleet it would of been destroyed or worse. Trapped in 1dq

Goons will not expand it will take them 2 years minimum to recover from the war as well as many of them will take breaks from the game after things settle down after the initial post war high wears off. Goons were saved by ccp wrecking the economy not from any skill . When 2bil fitted disposible dreads are no longer a thing noone wants to yolo into 1dq to break the goons anylonger.

Funny. Just a few hours I ago I searched "biggest battle of Eve online" which lead me into a rabbit hole of this whole conflict until I reached what seems to be the end of it on the very day it happened! What a journey. It looks like most of the issues stem from the game servers being unable to keep up which is a shame. Maybe I'll try the game out whenever they release Eve online 2 lmao. I really hope the Goons somehow make a comeback. Poor guys getting bullied by everyone.

There's no better time to try eve than now. You don't need to take part in the big block if that's the problem for you, there's plenty of other PvP and non PvP activities in eve. Goons will certainly come back #TESTisnext and the game is free, so even if you won't like it no money lost. Just make sure to use someones f.eg. Galaxiers link bc that gives you 1mln SP for free on start.

Highly highly doubt an Eve online 2 will ever exist from CCP. They have been testing for some time with another group to have the servers handle better. Aether I believe is what the 2 experiments have been so far. Trying to get 10k players on a single grid and have it run somewhat smoothly. But so far it’s barely worked.

PAPI still blaming CCP for their failure to evict The Imperium from Delve. That is wholly unfair towards the CCP, and is in essence a flat out lie to try cover their own leadership-failures. Both parties know the game mechanics (meta) very well. PAPI wanted to quote "exterminate" The Imperium. What they have done, is the opposite; The Imperium is much, much stronger now. And they will surely soon experience that being a matter of fact.

As it stands now, no big alliance can't be 100% evicted out of null if they decide to do the same thing imperium did, due to game mechanics and limitations. Only way for a big alliance to get evicted from null is if their members stop logging in or leave on their own accord. And the threat of "payback is coming" just made me lol, if you want to go on the offensive in another 1 year war, you're the ones that will lose members (no that I care anyway being a small gang pirate) PAPI is losing members both to the drawn-out war and for deciding to retreat. If the imperium does the same I guess my corp will recruit even more former goons and papi members to its ranks.

@@GalaxierYT all I can tell you is that I was working for Mean Streak and the only side I understood I was helping was "Already Replaced" I have no idea who's side was who. I honestly can't remember. All I know is it all started when I was getting ganked in High sec persistently and someone from Mean Streak found me down on my luck. He identified the gankers as people that they were at War with. And it got my attention. My assets were transported away from where they originally were "destroyed" so, the null sec base which my assets were stored was nowhere near where I was originally in game

How can "PAPI" win a war when they end up retreating? Tbh I don't care at all who wins or loses since I'm not on either side. But for the sake of sanity, to win you need to WIN.. I honestly cheer for Goons here even though I have nothing to do with nor papi, nor goons. After hearing what I just heard the reality is clear to me when it comes to who will if given the chance.. That's a lot of big words and meme one liners for someone who don't know how EVE game mechanics work. Goons huddled up in their last station, made sure to maximize the tidi when PAPI attacked, sat tethered and popped anything coming in from the safety of their station heals. That's how to use the game mechanics to your advantage, and it's how game mechanics allows for the game to be played. What's pathetic is how when PAPi packed up and said; "enough of this, we wont fight unbalanced game mechanics AND Goons at the same time" ... then Goons popped their collective heads up and said; look, they're running away, WE WON!

How do you figure that? goons lost most of their territory, but once holed up in IDQ it was always going to be virtually impossible to break into, and unlike a real life siege you can't starve them out as they just log in to their alts. Goons just had to keep morale and carry on, they had nowhere else to go.

@@elpelu123 Well no PAPI decided to take them on, they pushed them all the way back into 1DQ, but destroying them completely was likely to be impossible. The thing is having poked the bear PAPI have to contain them, by reinforcing Delve and ensuring they can not regain their old territory. They should have planned for this contingency, giving up on taking 1DQ is one thing, but not committing to keeping Delve ensures the whole thing was a waste of time and that the Imperium will take back their territory. I don't know if you've ever read the Silmarillion. Well the Imperium is Morgoth holed up in his fortress in the North and the Elven Alliance has to set a watch around the fortress to ensure he can't break free and destroy them. It's down to PAPI they know what is coming if they don't reinforce Delve and try and hold it.

As an imperium member that fought in the war from start to finish, the ending was so pathetic. Every member I spoke too was stocking up on ships and ready to lose everything for this war. papi was never going to win because they didn't have the level of commitment that the imperium had.

This game has always peaked my interest in its pvp, i use to watch a friend play it nearly 20 years ago when the mothership was the biggest tool in the kit. Id really appreciate some running commentary as i have no F-ing clue whats going on. You could of pulled in so many more viewers if you just done some basic commentary as youd appeal to a wider audience. Like myself, no idea what im watching 😅

Honestly EVE is VERY hard to explain. It would take so much explaining just for you to get a basic idea of what's happening on screen. We're talking probably at least a few hours. And then you'd have to explain the past 2/3 years of player made lore to understand the geopolitical context of the war ... Turst me, we want to explain, it's just pretty much impossible to do in a timely manner and people would get bored watching the video 10 minutes in :'D This is spreadsheet online after all ... :D

once m2 (the second) happened, we knew that all goons had to do was get 6800 people on line and we probably wouldn't even be able to get on eve much less fight. tragic. but as it goes, mittens is gone by his own hand no less so counting that we glassed all of delve, providence and god knows where else to get here to 1dq i'd call this a win for all of eve. though no doubt that goons will be up to their sos soon enough....pissin' off everyone in eve, maybe it'll happen again. I got the word one day as we were killin' goon dreads and carriers in 1dq and it came from an unexpected source...a friend that wasn't even in the region or either alliance. sure enough though, shortly there after, vince pinged what was going on. i was livid! i spent i dunno how many weeks in max tidi just to leave at the end. but i get it as pre stated, still stings.

was good brawls all around to be fair and yeah glassing delve was an achievement really. When goons went up north and glassed the upper regions its a shame NC didnt fight but Goons fought to the last constellation which was their capital constellation and I think the heads of papi realised it was impossible to take the last constellation from the imperium and some one pulled the plug. I'd of love to see a huge supercap brawl in 1dq but that will never happen unfortuantly.

M2 part 2 was a mistake on Papi's side tbh Sure servers completly bugged out. That's a hard fact ! But they should've NEVER cynoed where they did ! Directly on top of a MASSIVE blob of fighter bombers ? For real lol ? They should've assembled hours ahead of time like we did. They should've used that fortizar as a safe entry point unto the keepstar grid, period. I was there and I honestly wished we had a real fight and the servers had not bugged out like they did, but even with that very unfortunate point aside, it was still a very dumb move.

Papi didn’t lose the war. Goons were locked inside their castle while Papi burned their fields. With recent changes and the server issue, the fight wasn’t worth the cost.

papi outnumbered goons by 3:1 - goons werent stupid and immediately called to pull everything important back to 1dq. papi announced to wipe them off the map, including 1dq as a win-condition. made a big announcement of doing so in 1 month after 1 1/2 years of war.. changed it to two months.. then ran off - their leaders first, leaving their line members behind. lol I guess xD

I love their bragging about getting goons to a single constellation is an achievement. And yet I guarantee most of them don’t know the lore about what happened during the time of BoB. When the southern coalition pushed the Russians to a SINGLE STATION, which the Russians defended with 80 pilots, and the Russians won that battle. And then the creation of Redswarm happened and made all those southern alliances pay dearly during the war to eliminate BoB. They tried to repeat history, and they will now suffer those consequences
