Eve Online | Capital Ships: Carrier PVE Ratting examples

In part 2 of my Carrier Ratting lesson, I'm going to let you join me while I clear 2 combat anomalies. Hopefully this will let you judge whether the significant ISK and Skill investment to fly a carrier effectively is worth it to you.

I have set toggle between fighters/carrier to num 0 and num 1 is select all fighters, works quite well for me at least.

This is not 220m ISK/hour, not even close. Landed on grid/locking up rats @5:00 minutes, killed final ship at 18:00 minutes. That's 13m/site @ a site value of apromately 25 million. At 4.61 sites per hour you're looking at 115m/hour, not 220. No one is hitting 220m/hour in a carrier, years ago when I was doing it in a max skilled/blinged Nidhogger I was averaging 160m/hour, that's where carrier top out. A good super carrier pilot can hit 300m/hour. Also folks, you do not need 3 accounts to do this, you can easily just use one if your alliance has a good umbrella.

With Salvage and loot its totaly possible to hit 220m+ /hr

Few questions: 1. Can you launch fighters fefore they finished "refuiling"? 2. What is the benefit of carrier ratting compared to marauder ratting? I want to try carrier ratting, but as far as i know, isk/h is the +- same with marauder. So i find it hard to motivate myself to undock this expensive beast. I guess you are safer in a way, right?

As far as i know, no the launch all button is greyed out, if one wing is done before the others you can launch that. I think it is more fun and takes more work in a carrier compared to say Ishtar drones that keeps on going, fighters stop after they killed something, and they die quite easily if you forget to send to on the next target or orbit something. Some marauders are almost as expensive as a carrier these days and not sure on safer, carriers are a juicy target being a capital, and fair bit slower, but then you can jump out if you have a cyno in another system. I have a Golem and 2 carriers myself and not used them much if at all, Myrmidon is fine for now :)

Good questions. 1. You cannot relaunch a fighter squadron until it is done refueling. 2. Anecdotally speaking, I earn about 20-30% more ISK/hr carrier ratting than if I used my Vargur. And if you are pre aligned like I show in my video then carrier ratting is much safer because you can simply instawarp out and then tether, dock, or cyno out

Carriers don’t get locked on grid and can’t be trapped in system by gate camps. But they are easy to scan down. Lately in Delve, marauders have been getting dropped more than carriers so maybe carrier ratting will make a comeback.

Depends on what ship you are flying and how they are fit. Frigates are fairly safe from a carrier as long as you keep out of smart bomb and neut range.

You’re killing rats twice as fast as an Ishtar but you’re using 3 accounts, need more time to pick up loot and risk billions. Why not just multibox Ishtars at fraction of the risk?

a lot to manage and not worth the risk and hussle. this guy says he have 4 accounts running just to do ratting with this thanatos. what i would recommend instead are just getting all accounts into a praxis each, send them to each combat site, and make significant more isk for practically no risk. he could been making like 400 mill an hour in 4x 400 mill ships, and it takes a alot to loose them all same time

You now need 3 accounts today where 4 years ago you could get away with almost one account to do the same thing. All this because some crybaby complained that his frigate got dropped on by a super. You know null sec people using the ships they took the time to build.
