I tried playing eve for years, always try it for a week then give up. It's been a month since I tried again, and thanks to this program, I finally understand the core feature of the game, and I feel like I can play it consistenly. This is a big W for EVE

Z-S Overview made it appearence twice in this video. To be honest it should be just the default overview xD

I have also thought of that but the default overview is already confusing. I don't think I will want new players switching overview tabs to find what they want. General has everything. It is just not compact and specialized like Z-S. I think CCP should include Z-S Overview to their tutorial. The default overview is highsec centric so at some point if the player is ready to venture further then the guide should pop up and recommend changing to Z-S Overivew.

I have been playing almost 2 months, so still a newbro but I did play a lot in the past few weeks. This update does feel like a big improvement with tangible goals and starter ISK rewards for newbros in different areas of EVE.

Would genuinely loved to play this game again , i spent years building up characters and billions of ISK on ships but was forced to stop playing after i became seriously ill resulting in a double organ transplant meaning i was unable to play for many months , and by the time i was up to playing again Eve had moved on and all my characters , ships and equipment is now stranded in the back end of 0.0 space

@@PandaMationsCC issue with that is everything was loaded in to capital ships and is either docked in a station full packed or floating in space in the case of the super carrier , it was the only thing i had time to do before I went in to hospital so couriers arnt an option , I also burnt out all of my ISK keeping 3 accounts subbed for months while not playing before i completely ran out of money

If you been away for a long time CCP will usually help you move at least some of you stuff to empire. There are some limitations to it but can't hurt to ask.

There's gonna be a lot of stick from what I'll say but, I like what I've seen of the new Career Program up to now. It give doable targets toward completing the goals, and according to the patch notes doesn't require 100% completion of all targets to "certify". Which is good! Thanks for the update! I'll let you know if my computer blows up or something. Maybe. :D

@@DarkNocturnia I think it's the usual overcrowded Jita issue. Had a lot of fps drops with the highest reflection settings but it seems fine now even with the Dx12

I just started the other day and I’m having fun! Question though, will I forever be underpowered compared to someone who’s been playing since 03? I don’t mean through skill and knowledge but in some games your gear can infinitely get better making it impossible for new people to catch up. Is that the case with Eve?

You probably know already, but for the benefit of others reading this: no, you can't improve gear indefinitely. Training every skill in the game to maximum would take 23 years (the game is almost 20 years old now) - some people have reached all max skills through buying expensive skill injectors, but these are fringe cases. You can continuously gain skillpoints, but after a few years you hit a ceiling of how well you can do a particular thing/fly a particular type of ship. So you will likely never catch up to the vets in terms of *how many* things you can do well, but you can definitely catch up in specific fields. So for a PvP example, a year-and-a-half old character can max out skills relating to flying an Assault Frigate of choice and stand equal to any vet. And max skills aren't always required to do things well - sometimes the difference a month of skill training makes is just a 2% bonus to something. But the most important thing is: EVE is not a race. You don't have to catch up to anyone else to "get to the endgame", and there are no levels. A newbie can be useful in mining operations, gang fights and huge wars within a month. It takes a long time to learn the game properly and it's better to take things slowly, or you will just die quickly in more expensive ships. Another thing is: bigger isn't always better. Just because you need more skillpoints to fly a Battleship as opposed to a Cruiser, doesn't mean a Battleship is better for every situation. In fact, if you know what you're doing or fight in a group, smaller ships can easily punch above their weight class.

Nah nowhere in space should be save also if an area becomes pve only the economy will collapse. The game is also made around multiboxing. I mean a scouting alt, hauling alt, cyno alts the most important one granted now you can use mobile cyno beacons but what do you intend to do drop it with a T1 scanning ship or destroyer jump back to where your capital ship is and jump it to the beacon. Otherwise you need to ask a friend and he might be on the other side of the galaxy

Yeah, unless you explicitly mark yourself available for conflict, anyone should be 100% safe in newbie area. There are many, many different rules players already live with, and are fine with. This can be just one more.

Maybe, there's already big limitations as to what you can do there. But in order for the economy to work, they can't be both safe and a viable place for making money.

I have no issues running the game under the latest version of protondb and it was really easy to do, just select the protondb version in the steam launcher was all I had to do.
