@Eromasin to be fair. They got a lot of money from Sony to put it on play station, and it marketed the EVE world to people who never heard of of it before. So it wasn't a failure, it just didn't have the legs it otherwise would have. And as far as we know, had it been on pc it may have not lasted either, considering what happened with Valkyrie.

I want to see "Racial" weapon types. Like Railgun/Blasters, Lasers, some kind of Micro-missile swarm launchers, etc. Seeing an EDENCOM weapon would be interesting, if it was a lightning/Arc thrower that would bounce to nearby enemies. Racial Armors, with bonuses towards specific weapon types would also be great. This would allow for some great customization of your "character" and allow for "Builds". This could then later be built upon with adding "Navy Faction" and "Pirate Faction" variants of the base armors.

That's the initial game mode they're working on. I expect they'll be adding a pvp match making mode eventually for territory control, since that's what seems like the majority of EVE players want.

@@Glitch_Online Right, it would have to be a completely different game mode. Remember this is very early in the development process. What they had prior to 2023 apparently was scrapped because they weren't liking the direction of the game. I'm hopeful they've at least kept assets and some game mode stuff so it can be pulled into vanguard at a later date, but as far as we know, they're not using any of that stuff currently (if they were, the gun play would have been a lot further along than it is.)

Dust514 was complex, fps with huge variety in skill sheet and suits/class . Vanguard is stiff looking, diffrent type of game but even aesthetic side looks bad compared to Dust, really sad because back then EVE on ground have one of the most climatic environment.

For this game to make sense, there must be a connection between EVE ONLINE. This will mainly work if the raw materials needed to build important things in EVE are available ONLY in VANGUARD.

Meh. Not really. Vanguard players can be used to raid pi colonies, capture stations, and impact sov in various ways. The extraction stuff, well CCP needs to make sure Vanguard has a mode where the game can stand on it's own. I agree the games need links that are satisfying, but they also need to be independent enough where the gameplay isn't dependent on each other.

The game is progressing nicely but you are focusing on the extraction type of FPS. Which can be a very nice mode, but what people like is capture the flag kinda of stuff. So until Vanguard gets something like this people wont give the necessary attention to it, meaning less feedback.

So Ive read the comments to this comment that honestly didnt even think will get attention. Now I have a reply for those who seem to cry about the comment Ive made. First of all Ive never said that the survival/extraction part of vanguard is not fun. I m playing the game my self because it is an FPS and I like it. My previous comment agrees more with people who actually played dust which was a game set on the same Eve universe and took a more faction view at that time. The game even tho I didnt play because I never owned a console got a very big attention on PS3. Sadly the mistake of CCP was that they made exclusive for PS3 when PS4 was around the corner. I understand CCP wants to bring a new FPS in an industry well its mostly saturated and they wanna make Vanguard somehow unique. On the other hand I think you should fix what is not broken, meaning if they did to Vanguard what they did to Dust514 (add that faction warfare into it) the game will trully shine. What makes eve online an outstanding game are actually the big battles between alliances/coalitions. Imagine if you brought empire faction warfare to Vanguard. Battles on planets in the system of Amarr, Minmatar, Caldari or Gallente. From my point of view I think that will blow. Who knows tho maybe I m wrong. This is just my opinion lol.

@@tygerbyme I do think a ctf mode centered around fw would be good, but personally I think they need dynamic player made maps for static locations for that to really set it apart from other games. If it's just a generic shooter, there's nothing to set is apart from cod / bf ... or on the pve front, destiny / warframe / helldivers. And Vanguard will need something to make it gain attention and pull people away from the games they're used to.

Honestly I would prefer to see all of Project Legion and Dust 514 content added on top of the Vanguard content and engine. Dust 514 had a great UI design for it's time! The in game map was much better too. Maybe the DEVs should play Dust 514 & Project Legion so they understand what the community is asking. Dust 514 has massive support still from thousands of people.

The main problem with the game is you run out of ammo in ONE FIGHT and then cant produce anymore unless you can gather enough materials to craft more which takes time and THEN it produces like 20 rounds. You have little to no time to do anything before you are killed and then you LOSE EVERYTHING and have to start over.

I've been Out of the EvE Universe for 13 years. I was disappointed when i found out that Dust 514 was scrapped as the idea of a large scale fps like Planetside 2 on EvE scale was entertaining. This just seems like... "Oh Extraction shooters are the current thing! Lets try to shoe horn that!" Honestly This game will probably be popular for about 3 months then only the die hard fans will play and the larger player base will die off.

I guess main thing that makes it non generic is how directly it will be integrated to eve online (although we still don't know how it will be, dust integration was not that big. Through more than a thousand of hours doing many activities I managed to stumble into dust only once where someone hired our corp to defend the destroyer in lowsec doing orbital bombardment). Tho, not sure if it will be enough to attract regular shooter audience

Huh. I would've thought an FPS from CCP in the world of Eve would have as much customization of armor suits as they have customization in Eve ships. Though, I can see how the much faster-paced FPS doesn't allow for as much balancing opportunities. @@ingenieroriquelmecagardomo4067 dust was developed on UE3, nova and legion were on UE4, the efforts they had prior to dec 2022 were scrapped due to not liking the way the game was moving forward. So while they've been working on a shooter for a long time, this current effort is roughly a year and a half in. Yes, it is informed by those prior efforts (the demo would not be in a playable state otherwise,) but what you have in front of you is still very early development, and will take a while to get it into a state where it can be considered ready for the end user.

It would be nice to be able to play the game... but you have not optimized it instead its a mess in performance and I cant get past 12fps on this update even with DLSS. For comparison I can run Cyberpunk 2077 in high at 45 fps!! This is not even a fraction in scope as CP2077 and I cant even play it... please fix it.

There is some hope for Vanguard. Not for me, for now, but as soon as they exorcise the ghastly cliche magic missile mining. Ugh. And the obligatory 1990s capture the flag. Fortunately this is CCP and they will eventually come with absolute camp proof original gameplay that does not constantly shatter suspension of disbelief. OF COURSE the end product wont be this stale hypergeneric second-year-of-game-design teamwork challenge demo.

You know what would be better? Relaunching Dust for PC. The only reason Dust failed was due to PS3 exclusivity. Immediately alienating a vast majority of your established platerbase. This looks like a really beautiful game. The gunplay is really polished, everything looks really good. But, I gotta tell ya. I'm not diggin the notion that you have to upgrade your weaponry mid-battle. That's the sort of stress from EVE that I didn't like. Having to constantly watch your back while you're just trying to relax and play a game you like. You can't even do the content you like because you have to constantly mash the D-Scan button to make sure nothing is homing you down. I'd sooner play idle clickers. At least you get rewarded for clicking a button over and over again. Even if you wanted to do the "safe stuff" in high sec, if your ship was shiny enough, players would suicide gank you to pad their killboards. I want to like Vanguard, but every time I hear new developments coming from it, the news just gets worse and worse. What I am not hearing from this game that I need to hear is this: - you can keep your equipment outside of the matches you're in. - there is some sort of skill system for players to augment their combat capabilities (similar to DUST514) - larger, structered team based gameplay 8v8, 12v12, 16v16. - PvE content to be separated from PvP content. I don't want to worry about other players when playing against NPCs, that defeats the whole purpose of playing against NPCs. That last point is really the bottom line. That's what I thought DUST 514 was going to have, and I hoped that this was the way I could participate in the EVE universe. I've been following EVE since 2003, and I still have my EVE account. As the years went by the game became more and more about building and kicking eachother's sand castles and less about people just having fun and playing in the universe and being a part of it. If you wanna be part of it, you have to run the risk of starting another life. I don't want that. I'm losing faith CCP, and it's been 20 years. Over half my life time. Please get this right. Stop telling us what you're refining, and start telling us what you want to make out of this. What's your endgame? How will you be inclusive of all playertypes?

Tried it on alpha/beta event, it's boring game. Even that new content in the video is not fun. Can't imagine I will spend in this game as many hours in Eve Online, Counter Strike, Battlefield, Battlefront. Wish you all the best, hopefully your final product will be something.

I would’ve completely avoided PvP altogether or separate those players into quick match making game modes, & then create what they’ve done in PvE only, like abyssals where the player can get gradually better in a relaxed & enjoyable experience, & if a resource gets min/maxed too hard it can easily be tuned down. Everything oozes mediocrity with this FPS addon. The biggest trap CCP could fall for: Hardcore MMO players don't necessarily give the best feedback when it comes to design a great shooter, which is the foundation they need to nail first and foremost.

The game is in development this is not that full version, there are racial wepons and iirc the wepon we using rn is the actually is the minmater gun, others guns are not released yet there are pictures of them in vangurd relece notes in last fanfest

Dust 514 was an amazing game way ahead of its time the funnest time I've had in my entire life we just want to updated version of dust 514 for PC the first demo you showed after dust 514 closed its servers was the best version of the new game I think you had it was literally just 514 just better graphics on PC that's all we want

This looks great but I'm still a little weary. Not sure this is it guys. You had a near perfect fitting system that looked like and felt like Eve with dust 514. Doesn't make sense why you scrapped that system.

@@ISO_ROBOT Yeah, there's no reason not to. The default gear can be civilian grade and not take up much pg / cpu or a preset basic navy / pirate loudout, so it wouldn't be a bother to casuals who just want to jump in and not mess around with the gear system. But Vanguard absolutely needs EVE style customization.

You guys really need to slap a big WIP on these videos. From reading the comments I can tell many people think this is a released product. Which I can't really blame them for with the way you're marketing it. You even gave it an expansion title. Anyway, I'm looking forward to how it progresses. I know you're just in the first stages of setting up the primary solo / small group game mode, but I expect you'll have to weather some criticism until you get the hooks into the main game. Vanguard territory control (station capture, planetary district capture, PI node raiding / capture / destruction, ect.) simultaneous gameplay options between Vanguard and EVE players, Vanguard exploration, PVE modes, ect. This game will really take off if / when you implement dynamic maps for static locations that are created by the community. Station interiors and planetside cities created through a sim city style builder, and turned into maps for vanguard players to run around in. It may be ambitious, but that's what you'll have to do if you want to stand out from the other shooters. Leverage the EVE universe and lore (hint, use drones, not all npcs need to be humanoid.)

@@some0ne931 There's a paper rock shotgun article that said they pretty much scrapped what they had in dec 2022 (which was an eve flavored destiny clone that wasn't linked in with EVE at all,) and we got the playtest a year later. This really is very early development. Sure it's built upon the work / knowledge of what came before, but this isn't a game yet. Don't expect full release for like 4-5 years.

Whats the target audience for this ? Its an extremely weak niche shooter for ppl who play shooters and even less attractive to excel table enjoyers. Id love to see dust come to pc back in the day, it had potential kinda.. But this feels like a game without an idea.
