He definitely SA Cicely. That’s why she got her period after the storm. And she didn’t want her Dad to look at her. Also, when Eve asked Mozelle how to unalive someone and Mozelle asked for her hands. She acted like she couldn’t see anything. But she DID see. That’s why she accused Louis of SA Cicely. Remember, her visions are always right. She wouldn’t have asked him, if she didn’t see it. Cicely was telling the truth!

aint no mutual when a child is involved. she was groomed and him leaning in shows a comfortability in doing so, he was not caught off guard. Lovely retelling but I do think people miss the point. We all were questioning the child and her integrity. It almost seemed like a lot of viewers were quick to blame the child, but ignored the complete lust of the Father and his intimate relationship with his own daughter. I also want to point out that he was so sloppy his youngest caught him in the act?!?! The Father was to blame all along.

I also want to add that memory loss can also be a result of trauma and wanting to block it out
@imanithefilmophile9 ай бұрын
Yeah I definitely stated that the father is solely at fault because he’s the adult in the situation. So I definitely agree with you on that!!
@JloveLamar6 ай бұрын
How on earth was he sloppy? They went into the dark shed away from the party. He did not look back once. How on earth was he to know his daughter was in there hiding? That being said, I disagree with you. I believe what happened was Cicely was in love with her father. In all of the scenes with her dad, she is doting on him and wants it to only be the two of them. Then, she hears of all of his cheating, and she wants to, in a sense, take her mother's place (she gets her hair cut just like her mother, etc.) There's another deleted scene where she tells her mother if she drives the dad away, she won't ever forgive her. The night of the incident, she goes down stairs to talk to her dad and she tries to kiss him. He slaps her and tells her "No", which is the first time she is disciplined by him, and now she was hurt. Now, fast forward to when Eve confronts her, she has it blocked out. "Trauma" is no match for someone with the gift of sight (as evidenced by the aunt earlier, she can see what needs to be seen, unless you are purposely trying to withhold the information. Remember, Eve kept her plans hidden from their aunt and she could not pass that part of her when she tried to use her powers). First, remember Cicely told Eve with all certainty that she wasn't lying, until Eve asked to see it for herself. Then, Cecily wouldn't let her see what happened. She ends with, "I don't know what happened. I don't know." There's no way she doesn't know what happened. She recounted the story to Eve perfectly. She just wouldn't let her see it because she was lying.

@@JloveLamarif you think that little girl was aiming to be sexual with her father you are no different from the protagonist in Lolita and lack critical thinking. She really just wanted to spend whatever limited time she had with her father. He was busy being a dog ass husband tarnishing his wife emotions, reputation and even the family. So no, he wasn’t around the house a lot. Even red wanted his attention and wanted to dance with her father. The father was mostly absent so an anxious attachment developed within the daughters. Of course not from the boy because he gotten plenty of attention from his mother as you can see from the first 10 minutes of the movie. The father again, is a serial cheater, liar, and pathetic. He wanted to feel like a “hero”. And who made him feel like a hero? The oldest daughter. But he twisted it into something sinister. Why….. would you believe him anyway?! lol Also, there are very real stories of young ladies being betrayed by their father or father figure….. so would you suspect they were being promiscuous? With that kind of thinking, this is why some girls aren’t protected and unfortunately, people turn a blind eye to the situation. Just like the aunty did when she was the first to know something was up…

I just finished the movie and on thing I caught that I feel like pole miss is after Cicily creates the fake story to Eve, and after eve calms down, Cicily turned to Eve and said "you scared me, you know". She said it as if she was expecting Eve to say that their dad had touched her. Cicily seemed concerned that possibly what has been done to her has been done to Eve.

I think you're kind've missing the point. They are a cookie cutter family, and the point of having attractive characters do bad things is because it creates uncertainty. This movie, which I grew up having in a CD holder, but never watched until I was older because of the themes (I think my mother did that to protect me honestly), is complex and its its meant to be that way. Just think of celebrities now or even people who you know who have been subjected to sexual violence by attractice people, you always lean into the "no he/she couldn't have possibly done that!" It's a oxyomoronic juxtaposition that poses the question: How can someone/something so beautiful be so ugly?
