Evel Knievel's X-1 Skycycle Snake River Canyon

Went to the museum today in Topeka. The x1 is displayed on the actual site. The x2 is in the museum. Scratching my head because the c2 was supposedly the one that served as the practice model which failed and kenievel got worried when it failed. The picture show him waving as he is getting into the x2.

I believe the photo you are referring to was a “promo picture” The X1 was the bird he flew in

Sure wish Evel and Bob Truax had had the tank full on its test rather than its intentional fail. EK wanted a fail for the press, Bob wasn't sure where Malewicki's X-1 was going to go, so I get why. But I sure would love to know if this bird could have made it. Obviously X-2 could.
