He did care for him, Harry wasn't a pig for slaughter after all. Dumbledore probably cared for him way too much than his plan meant to, he really was like a grandfather to Harry, the one the boy who lived never had! And the way he was soo proud that Harry really did sacrifice himself melts my heart.🥺🖐️

@@Warzulu77 the protection disappeared when voldemort returned in the end of the goblet of fire, with the protection he couldn't even touch harry, but when he used his blood to regain his final form he could touch him

@@Warzulu77 He knew Harry wasn't going to die because Voldemort used his blood in the ritual to get his body back. Well, Dumbledore wasn't entirely sure about that, but he supposed so and he turned out to be right. It's actually said in the book. And for all I understood, he didn't want Harry to know that in advance so that his sacrifice would be real and could give the others the same protection that Lily had given him, because Harry says to Voldemort during their final battle that the defenders of Hogwarts were now able to defeat Death Eaters because of that protection he gave them

Both of my favorite characters in the Wizarding World. Dumbledore had been through a lot like loses his sister, his mother, his father, relationship with his brother and his own nephew. When he said in The Secrets of Dumbledore "Just Call it Faith." Harry was like Dumbledore loses his parents.
