"Evelyn Evelyn" are an exciting new songwriting duo comprised of the conjoined twin sisters Evelyn & Evelyn Neville. The girls have recently released their debut record (co-produced by Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls and Jason Webley), toured Europe (despite volcanic-hangups), and are about to embark on a tour of North America, along with Palmer, Webley and their manager/chaperone Sxip Shirey (The Great Sxiphisto).

They are identical and come from the same egg so, they would have the same gender, height, eye color, etc. Identical twins (and conjoined) have the same DNA so there is no way one could've been a male and the other a female. Ok, from what I can tell...the Evelyn sisters aren't real, but are BASED on two real conjoined twins. Amanda and Jason dress up as them and perform the music (both the vocals and instrumentals). The whole album is BASED on the lives of the two twins, but isn't actually performed by the twins. I keep seeing different variations of the story, but this was just my conclusion. I still have no idea what's true or not.

Ah, the thing about the sisters though is that they're too shy to come out on stage and sing in front of everyone so they get Amanda and Jason to sing for them, but they're the ones who come up with the music. To the people confused. This is a concept project by 2 artists about a pair of conjoined twins. Not an attempt at pop stardom by a pair of conjoined twins. Also conjoined twins are always the same sex having split from the same embryo. If you haven't listened to the title song Evelyn Evelyn it is well worth a listen, as it is haunting and memorizing, as well it really makes you consider the struggle for a sense of self when you share a body and identity. They're fictional characters but Amanda and Jason just want to keep the fun in it, but it's been 6 years so I feel like I can tell this. Those pictures of "Eva and Lyn" as babies were incorrect, and if you look closer, not even conjoined, and also OBVIOUSLY NOT from the 80s and 90s, so yeah sorry, but it's a beautiful tale and an incredible concept album. Y'all, let me clear this up. Too much confusion up in here. The Neville sisters aren't real and never have been. Amanda and Jason made them up as a stage act. Amanda and James are not conjoined either? They wear a costume on stage and perform as the twins that they made up. It's not based on real twins. The Neville twins never existed. If you google the Neville twins or Eve and Lyn Neville or Evelyn Neville or anything similar, everything that comes up is this album and Amanda and Jason. If you google the name of this circus where the twins were supposed to have grown up, you'll see that this circus also never existed. The twins are not dead. They never existed. I was in my favorite Record Store today, I was originally there to pick up my reserved order of the soundtrack to the film One From The Heart by Tom Waits & Crystal Gale. And the film Down By Law, it was expected to be there in two weeks, I got there in four weeks. I thought I was leaving empty-handed, but I spotted this album, on vinyl. I listened to it in the store for a few tries, I didn't like it, sounded like a nightmare. But it grew on me, and it came with the Compact Disc inside, awesome.

I've done a ton of research and as far as I can tell Evelyn and Evelyn are not based on the Hilton sisters (and of course they are not real either. It's literally just Amanda and Jason in costume). Although the story of Daisy and Violet Hilton is just as tragic as that of Evelyn and Evelyn (or Eva and Lynn), the only thing the stories have in common is abuse, neglect and them performing for others. The characters may be inspired by the twins but it is not based on their story. Correction: The Hilton twins apparently worked at a grocery store before they died of the Hong Kong flu - just like Eva and Lynn worked at the motel. So I guess they _kind of_ have that in common as well.
