I think she meant to say it got cancelled because it's so niche. If there's not enough viewership, it's not worth it to netflix. And honestly I get it. I mean, lesbians and catholicism probably don't really go together for most people.

Motherlands first two seasons were baller, the showrunner I believable had a 7 season idea for what he wanted it to look like so getting a heads up that season 3 would be their last kinda threw a wrench in it and it felt a bit rushed towards the end + underwhelming finale imo but it's still one of my faves and still def worth the watch (generally happy ending tho!!)

I started watching the Old Guard but gave up after about 20 minutes. Do I need to go back and try it again? I liked ammonite but it's definitely a victim of male gaze. The movie appeared to be about a budding love between 2 women, but the genitals we saw was a penis. The relationship and character building of the 2 lead women was next to nil, yet we learnt a fair bit about the man. Yep, mistakes were made lol. I guess that's what happens when a gay man makes a lesbian movie.
