I strictly did Whole 30 last year for a month and my body felt great, I felt great, every thing was great. But girl, on that 31st day I bout ate a Whole Pizza and my body hit me with that "bish whet?" 🤦🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️ So yeah y'all, don't be like me. smh The biggest lesson for me though was noticing just how much unnecessary sugar is in the food we consume and being more mindful of that. Also, getting into the habit of cooking and incorporating more whole foods. Loved this video! You about to make me go dust off my Whole 30 cookbook! #SmackYoLip

Yea that’s the thing about diets like this tho they are great for uping your nutrition game they are soo hard to keep up because they are different from how your normally eat so usually most people end up going back to their old diet. Best way if you ask me (and I’m a nutritionist with a science degree 👅 #streetcred) is to s l o w l y make little changes to how you normally eat until maybe it looks “whole”. So for example I used to looove peanut butter on toast for breakfast and porridge - now I just have the toast with peanut butter topped with celery and cut out the porridge 🤗 simple small little changes like that all through out my diet and I’ve lost almost 5 kgs!

Allergic to eggs so yeah...whole 30 is frustrating, to say the least. Mr. Hallease is also against cauliflower rice on a spiritual level. "Don't call it rice! Just call it ground cauliflower"
@PheOfTheFae5 жыл бұрын
"Riced cauliflower" is actually the "proper" term because there's a tool called a "potato ricer" - which if you were doing it yourself, you'd be using to "rice" the cauliflower. So it's an adjective or a verb and not a noun, traditionally, when speaking of doing it to some other food. It was only when ricing cauliflower became a popular grain alternative that it started getting used like a noun "cauliflower rice." Sorry I internet comment trivia'd there. LOL

I learned how to eat cauliflower rice this way: If you use frozen kind, defrost, use a collander and spoon to get out as much water as possible. Put olive or avocado oil in frying pan, throw in cauliflower. Add in Himalayan salt, green herbs or Italian herbs, toasted onion, and lots of cumen. Keep mixing. Very tasty!

You just made me watch AND enjoy a diet video: that's sorcery right there!!! 🤣👍 on a more serious note though, I already have my fair share of issues with food (diet, emotional, binge eating...) so anything that starts with "don't eat that" is a recipe for disaster to me. This diet has a lot of overlap with my food allergies-avoiding diet (since it seems like a quasi-elimination diet, that makes sense) and I just got to the part where you talk about sugar in sauces. I'm not allergic to sugar (thank the Gods) but I am to corn, which IS the sugar in a lot of those (in the form of HFCS or just corn syrup, plain). So yeah - I make almost all my condiments myself. Once you get used to doing it, it's not as big of a pain as it sounds because they last. Plus, they often taste better and are cheaper. And you feel like you belong on Food Network, which is a bonus. :)

This was so funny, entertaining and informative! I've done three Whole30s and loved how I felt after, lost several pounds (was 130 now am 123 and I'm 5'3") and best of all gained tons of mental clarity, stabilized mood, energy, and 'depuffed' my body and face. You should do a whole month of Whole30 because I gained so many recipe ideas and wanted to do another one after watching. Plus you are hilarious.

Omg the explanation of whole30 is awesome. I've heard of it, automatically thought it was a diet/lifestyle.

I've done whole30 so many times. And this is giving me life! If Melissa Urban Hartwig hasn't seen this, she SHOULD.

To this day, I wait until I'm done eating before I drink my beverages, unless it's wine. I've done two cycles of Whole 30, the first one was disastrous, due to my not doing it correctly and having an un-diagnosed almond allergy. The second time, I got into the swing of it, and by the end my knees and ankles stopped hurting, and I was generally non-puffy and less exhausted. If you have the financial wherewithal (cause $8 for coconut flour isn't the only thing that's super expensive), the free time (meal prep is no joke), and your doctor's approval, I highly recommend it. I missed cheese and alcohol the most during the process.
