@@silvertryxX Season 8 was pure laziness all around. Another thing about Drogon was there was a ton of focus on his appetite for destruction, which honestly made me like him even less. At least in the books Viserion and Rhaegal had a *tiny* bit more personality. Viserion is described as being relatively mild mannered for a dragon and likes belly rubs. Rhaegal is described by Ser Barristan Selmy in his TWOW spoiler chapter pov as being the most vicious of the three of them, which will prove to have interesting implications in the future. I think that and his choosing to curl around the top of Mereen’s biggest pyramid is foreshadowing. Meanwhile the dragons in Fire and Blood/HOTD just all have their own distinct personalities and their bond with their riders is very clear. Sometimes it feels like (especially with Caraxes), that the dragons are frequently the inner reflection of their rider. (Daemon has no problem wrecking shit if he knows he can get away with it). And it was clear Meleys in the coronation of Aegon was expressing how Rhaenys REALLY feels about the situation.

Ye, they have the strongest bond out of all dragons and their riders. They’re the only pair that get literal pages written about their bond. And (spoiler spoiler spoiler) They have some telepathic gps stuff going on!!! When aegon was in trouble, sunfyre flew across Westeros with one broken wing, to exactly where aegon was just to save him. Plus killed like. 2 or 3 other dragons after being maimed? At only 20 years old at that. Literally the best dragon imo.. I think if they let him get older and bigger, he’d be on par with balerion as far as legendary status goes

After the book, I knew how hard this was going to be for me to watch especially as an empath. I know rationally it’s ridiculous to feel so deeply for creatures that are only computer animations but they have done such an incredible job of making them real it literally BROKE me to watch that episode. I sobbed, heartbroken for HOURS suffering their loss like they were my own. Their cries pierce my soul. If you truly love a being you would never put it in this kind of situation, never.
