I do need to add something. When you call a big company to report an issue, understand idiots call all the time with nothing. I worked for a major ISP. I got a call once where the guy says he was a network engineer. He starts off proclaiming we had a cascade failure of our servers. I asked why he thought that, and he said because he could not connect to the internet. I asked if he rebooted the modem? He said no because I know that's not the issue. After 10 minutes I finally got him to restart the modem and guess what? We get these call all the time. When someone announces their title at the start of the call we knew it would be at least a 15 minute call.

I cant wait to listen to this after work. I teach English online... most of my students are in Costa Rica. I lost a lot of my students because they couldn't use the internet for a while. My school was hit with a ransomware about a year before this happened that wiped out everything important. It probably was unrelated, but I always wondered if it was the same people. It's the one of the biggest language schools in the country, so it truly wouldn't surprise me. This was a wild time!

Years ago someone tried to steal my car from parking structure at work. It was a beat up old toyota tercel with really no value. They broke the door lock to get in and then broke the ignition trying to start it but could not. So they took the stereo and left. I was asking the police, why would anyone try to steal my crappy car? Don't they steal nicer cars? He said no, they just try for the ones that look easy to steal.
