I got rid of FB a while ago. I despise that platform. I loathe the position of people saying, "if you have nothing to hide it shouldn't matter." It does matter because the data is being used for far more nefarious purposes than most realize. @@Dakren12 look how divided people are over certain topics. Politics, police, COVID etc. The information algorithms used to pump out stories onto timelines help to accelerate the division of the people. If the people remain divided we are far less of a threat to any current government. Keep 'em busy fighting one another. Then there was Cambridge analytica. Using personal accounts to pump out data to sway elections. Metadata stored in huge sites, like the one in Utah by the NSA to keep tabs on what 'Tommy' is searching for, watching, listening to etc. If that is what we know I can only imagine what the true nature of the "far more nefarious" purposes our information and data is actually used for. Thanks for this insightful video. The sad thing is that there is absolutely not a single thing any of us can do about it except for shutting down, turning off and for those who have the desire and strength to do so... get rid of our devices. That's it! Over time we have been slowly lured into the life of thinking and believing that we need these machines when we truly don't. My close circle of family and friends have taken pride in turning them off at family get-togethers - leaving them in a basket at the front door of the home upon entry; or simply just not bringing them with us on trips. Girlfriends and I will notify family and friends when we are heading out for the night or a cottage trip and will leave them behind for the weekend - and we have been fine, just fine! Our parents, grandparents and great grandparents got on just fine without them. We can too! There's no way out of this unless we decide NOT to participate.

It wont work because your giving up the power to see all things from above, to instantly know the shortest route, to know all things instantly. The majority of people wont say no to that because they know theyll be left behind if they do. Being left behind means you cant affect anything anymore. You have to fight it not by not walking down any road at all because the easy road leads into hell (Which I will admit, is an ok strategy because its better than hell), but by building roads that lead elsewhere. He was getting out when a boat of undergrads went by. He only had a small towel with him. He did something completely crazy. Instead of covering his little peewee as anybody would do. He reached for his towel and wrapped it around his head. Thus making himself anonymous. I think this analogy is brilliantly fitting these internet privacy matters.

If you have any phone, it has a microphone which records your voice. They can identify you with voice recognition along with identifying all other voices around you to track location. Not that they don't already have many other ways to do this. If you walk out in public, you are tracked and recognised almost anywhere in a city or urban area. The only way to change this sick dystopian world we're living in is through violent revolution and even now that's almost impossible. People in general are as dumb as the proverbial frog, slowly being boiled. In a way worse, because the limited intelligence they have makes them far more susceptible to manipulation. Their only blessing is their ignorance, like the cattle willingly walking to the slaughter yard.

In my opinion there is something even more scary. It is that the algorithms in the cloud are so advanced that they can predict what you are going to do from nuances in your behaviour online. Scrolling in a certain way, looking at a certain picture for a certain amount of time. Saying certain key words. All these things are constantly analysed to know what you want to see next and keep you engaged. They are neural networks and they understand us in insanely detailed ways.

Good interview, by the way,FYI Los Angeles Police Department has all of their communications all of them hosted/routed through a google server which is located geographically inside of LAPD headquarters. Any person who is a whistleblower, reports government corruption or attempts to hold government or court accountable to the law, they might find that their Google email now is filtered both incoming and outgoing, also the most scary thing is that our court system is also hosted by Google and it is effectively a Google court. They can also cross access different phones. I have an android work phone without a sign in but somehow it matches my iPhone searches and gives me searches which I’ve done on my IPhone. So even a de-google phone close to a regular phone you use can be cross pollinated from your other phone. The tracking of your phone can link with other phones your in contact with frequently. Phones in general are tracking devices and so are cars smart TVs, house assistants anything connected to the net.

I love this video! I follow this guy already bc I was mega annoyed with the company I work for requiring we download company apps on personal cells to "authenticate" ourselves on business PCs. But open the info and read fine print...you just agreed to be tracked inn your phone by place of business. I said No Thank You! It took act of God through employer to get approval to get a different method to authenticate work log ons on business PCs not on my own personal device! And ruffled lots of feathers! On the topic of privacy on phones, I read an article recently about iPhones. A father who sent pix of son's rash (private area) to doctors from phone, got flagged, and all his email and contact accts shut down. Had to get new #, and was such a nightmare to fix. Not to mention being investigated by police for taking good care of his son and getting him medical care! With so many people with iPhones, I can see this happening a lot! Thank you for getting the truth out there!!! Much appreciated! Keep up the great work!

I don’t care if they know who I am or what I do. I care about the overall ethical impact that data collection and use has had and will growingly continue to have within the future. I think the public needs to be generally informed about how data collection and use works. Maybe someday we’ll even have the chance for an understandable ‘transparent glance’ into algorithms utilized on all the platforms we use and the datasets that have been collected on yourself.

I own an ISP in Australia and have to comply with the surveillance regulation they have and agree that it is bad. For example, we need to capture the Source MAC, Source IP, Source Port, Destination MAC, Destination IP, Destination Port of all of our customers traffic. The surveillance regulation in our country is out of hand and they just keep trying to regulate more (Force Facebook, KZbin, etc to give the government access to your account to view, edit, remove your Facebook, KZbin, etc data...). It is all pretty concerning :/

@jrnmadsen27102 жыл бұрын
Scary stuff, mate. A lot of regulation since "Crocodile Dundee".
@oliver11212 жыл бұрын
@@webflyer035 Actually Facebook (Meta) is one of the ones I respect and admire after what they did. They legit made an enemy of the Australian government. To give you a bit of context there was some Australian regulation that was going to be passed to essentially make Facebook, Google, KZbin, and more pay legacy media companies (TV news stations) for the legacy media companies posting on THEIR platforms (Also some BS about them getting to see Facebook, Google, KZbin's algorithms and basically a change management policy to their algorithms). I thought Google or KZbin was going to be the one to do something, but then Facebook a month or few weeks before the regulation was going to be passed went full GIGACHAD and implemented their algorithm to no longer show content from these companies (This is what they would of had to do if the regulation was enacted due to it being against their economic interest). The Australian government and everyone freaked out and basically the regulation was watered down a LOT. Facebook/Meta were the ones to stand up against a government for ridiculous regulation that made zero sense to anyone that understands Facebook's business model...

The first time I noticed "Skynet" was in the mid-90's. I was standing in the hallway outside my apartment smoking and my neighbor was watching TV. The Simpsons was on. I noticed he was watching it and I was also watching it on My TV. I could see both TVs from my doorway, but I noticed that they were playing different commercials. I asked my neighbor what cable company he was using and it was the same one I used and the TV commercials were different, both demographically tailored to our interests, so I've been hip to "Skynet" since then. Just think what they're doing now with the internet.
